The holiday season is upon us once again, and that means it’s time for Pet Pictures with Santa!! Join ADOPT at My Vet in Westerville to get your pet’s picture taken with Santa. In addition to getting pictures taken, there will also be some holiday goodies for sale, as well as the opportunity to sponsor to a dog in need. Hope to see you there!!

ADOPT will be at House Wine in Worthington from 6-9pm this Tuesday for a night of wine and fundraising! Stop by anytime between 6 and 9 and mention that you are there for ADOPT and a portion of your sale will go back to ADOPT – it’s that simple! It’s a great cause and sure to be a great time!

Dylan

Dylan is an athletic, driven, and highly intelligent German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix and is absolutely gorgeous. He was literally saved an hour before being euthanized and been in a foster home since. When Dylan first arrived he was very nervous and reactive towards other dogs. He was initially in our canine/inmate program but the environment proved to be too stressful for him. Because he seemed to be showing signs of fear aggression, he was pulled from the program and placed in a dog-savvy foster home. Dylan immediately began to relax and we are so pleased to see his progress. He has since been worked with professionally by Daniel Carter, owner and Head Trainer of Off Leash K-9. Dylan has been completely trained in his obedience commands and has been very successful in mastering what has been asked of him. Daniel will train Dylan’s new owner on the proper use of his e-collar and commands.
We are looking for a specific type of home environment for Dylan. He will need regular daily exercise and a fenced yard. He must be the only pet in the home…while Dylan has successfully played and interacted with other dogs, we know that he can get pretty ramped up around them and in order to ensure his success we feel it’s best that he is the “only.” He has been fine around kids, but again, we want Dylan to continue with his positive progress and not risk him getting overly excited! Join ADOPT at Fetch a Friend!

ADOPT will be participating in the first annual Fetch A Friend Adopt-a-thon THIS SATURDAY, May 9th, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This event will be at the Ohio Expo Center – Lausche Building in Columbus. Admission is FREE and parking at the Expo Center is only $5, so stop on by on Saturday and come see us!! For those you interested in volunteering with us at the event, we are still in need of help staffing our booth and helping to sell items. ADOPT is so excited to be teaming up with Hutta & Hutta Orthodontics in Westerville! Brothers and Drs. J. Lawrence Hutta & James T. Hutta have joined forces to open a practice together and they love giving back to the community that they live in and love. So, for every new follow to their Facebook page in the month of May, they’ll be donating $1 to our rescue! Please give them a follow (and schedule an appointment if you’re looking for a great orthodontist) so Hutta & Hutta can write an even bigger check to help animals find happy, local homes! Bella

Bella is a Great Dane who was surrendered by her owner when he went into a nursing home. She has a sweet disposition and has lived with other dog and kids. Bella has recently entered into the canine/inmate program where she will work on her manners, learning basic commands and how to walk on a leash. She does well with smaller dogs, male or female, but is not as friendly towards large dogs of either sex. She is a little bit underweight but will fill out nicely with a healthy diet. If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please fill out an online application. Giant breed or Great Dane experience is preferred.
