Adopted – Congrats!

George

George

Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: June 2017
Size: S, 9 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: 10+
Housebroken: yes
General information: George is a feisty, sometimes ornery little guy. He can be wary of new people and it’s best to introduce him slowly…with treats. George loves his treats. He’ll warm right up if snacks are involved. He’s usually good with other dogs unless there’s food…George isn’t a fan of sharing. Like many terriers, he’s got a big attitude in a small body. He loooovvves toys of all kinds, walks nicely on a leash, knows his basic commands, and is crate trained and housebroken. He would do best in an adult home or a home with older kids. He’s very affectionate with his person, loves to snuggle, and will be a great buddy for someone with a less hectic lifestyle.

Olive

Olive

Breed: Dalmatian (mix?)
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthday: May 2017
Size: Large, 70 lbs
Good with cats: interested but not aggressive
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Olive is stunning. She is beautiful, affectionate and loves to be with people. Olive is currently in a foster home with cats and other dogs. She knows several commands (sit, lay and is learning stay & drop). Her foster mom says she is pretty great, would do best with another dog in the household, and once she sees you or hears you talking will come right over (we like to call her a “velcro dog”). At first she was afraid of stairs but has mastered those! She’s interested in the cats but is not aggressive. We believe that Olive would thrive in a household that has a canine companion and/or a home where she wasn’t by herself for long periods. She is a loving and sweet girl who will be a great companion.

Bridget

Bridget

Breed: Lab, Pointer, Terrier (?) mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: May 2018
Size: M/L 50 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Bridget is a happy-go-lucky, wiggly, lover of life. She came to us from a rural kill shelter in Kentucky and has been placed into our canine-inmate program. She already knew some basic commands when she arrived and was quiet in the crate on her freedom ride. She’s very unique looking with a dense white coat, liver colored specks underneath and dark ears with an “eye patch.” Bridget would be great for an active individual or family that will include her in their outtings and take her for walks. She always looks like she’s smiling and would love to find her forever home.

Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: May 2018
Size: small, 8.5 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: Not 100%
General Information: Teddy is the best boy! He was surrendered to us because the family felt they didn’t have enough time for him. He sometimes will submissively pee or not be able to hold it for long hours in the crate. He is sweet, energetic, friendly and such a cutie! He will be getting basic obedience training in our canine-inmate program and be given consistency with house training. He’s a great little guy and will be a wonderful companion. We’d love to see Teddy go to a home where he’s not left unattended for long periods since he genuinely enjoys the company of people.

Clark

Clark

Breed: Mixed unknown
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: Medium, 23 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
General information: Clark is the funkiest looking little guy. His pics make him appear larger, but he is only 23 lbs. Our best guess is that he’s a herding breed mix, possibly Australian Cattle Dog. He has recently joined our program so we are getting to know him better, but so far he’s shown himself to be a great dog. He’s smart, rides well in a car, and likes other dogs. He’s the perfect size to tag along on walks, road trips, or just curl up with at home. If you’d like to meet this unique boy, please fill out an online application.

Louie

Louie

Breed: Australian Shepherd mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: September 2018
Size: Medium (EST ONLY 45 lbs full grown)
Good with kids: 10+
Good with cats: has been exposed and not bothered
Housebroken: yes
General information: Louie was adopted and returned due to the family having some behavioral concerns. After a consult with a trainer and veterinarian it was determined that the adoptive household was not a good fit for Louie. He is currently in a foster home doing wonderfully. His foster mom says:
“He’s doing really well and is a very good little guy. We haven’t had any issues with other dogs (or cats or goats or horses!) He’s super sweet with everyone he meets…and he’s adorable!” He currently is being fostered with a large male dog and makes regular trips to the barn. Louie is working on a few things like being protective of his food bowl and basic manners. He is a herding breed mix which means he is super smart, active, loves to have a “job”/toys/play and be involved with his people. We are committed to finding Louie his “forever” home and strongly prefer herding breed experience.

Willa

Willa

Breed: Hound mix
Sex: Female Spayed
Estimated birthdate: 2/2017
Size: Medium, 40 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown, best 5+ due to energy
Housebroken: yes
General information: Willa is a super pup! She is doing great and has all the basics down plus more! She is fun, silly, very smart and athletic. She is crate trained, house trained and great with the other dog in the home. She has a keen interest in cats and birds so a home without might be best. She loves the toddler next door but has only had contact through a fence. She is friendly to all but children 8+ would be best due to her energy. She calms down nicely and is happy to curl up on the couch, loves to be played with and loves her toys. In her excitement she will sometimes jump up but has gotten much better! Willa has an an amazing beagle nose and loves to track any scents found, she is fast, agile and a lean muscular 35#. A fenced yard is best as well as being able to scent/track outdoors or take long walks with her nose to the ground…that would make her soooo happy! Her foster parents have been working with her on the bike path and she would be an amazing jogging/biking buddy.
