Jax

Jax

Breed: Australian Shepherd mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: M, 41 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Jax is awesome. He’s a striking looking boy with his blue merle coat and long slender face. He’s always in a good mood and happy to greet you. He does well with other dogs but would also be fine as an only pet. He literally has a spring in his step and sometimes bounces like a deer when he runs. Jax is a genuinely happy-go-lucky boy and will be a wonderful companion.

Malcolm

Malcolm

Breed: Mixed; Pointer/Spaniel
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: March 2019
Size: M (estimate 40ish lbs full grown)
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: yes
Housebroken: mostly, doesn’t alert to go out yet
General information: Malcolm is a really sweet boy who needs a little extra patience. He’s afraid of men but is learning that they aren’t so scary. He’s currently being fostered in a home with another dog which seems to help him be more confident. Dogs like Malcolm sometimes get overlooked because they don’t come bouncing up with tails wagging…but he wants to. He’s learning how to play with toys, learning that beds are super comfy, and learning that people can be kind. He loves kids, loves to snuggle, and just needs someone who understands that “perfect” comes in many different forms.

Heath

Heath

Breed: Australian Shepherd/Beagle/Mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: Oct 2017
Size: M, 34 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: new to program
General information: Heath’s photos don’t show his coloring well…he’s got a really dark merle coat with tan legs and face. Heath came in from one of our partner shelters in Kentucky with his sister. He is slightly more reserved of the two, but he is friendly and loves attention. Heath has gone into our canine-inmate program where he will be exposed to basic obedience commands, leash walking, and continue being socialized. He’s a great size, not too big, not too small, and will make a great companion. Wouldn’t you love to have a Heath in your trick or treat bag?!

Snickers

Snickers

Breed: Australian Shepherd/Beagle/Mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: Oct 2017
Size: M, 32 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: new to program
General information: Snickers’ photos don’t do her justice…she has the most gorgeous merle coloring (literally looks like a Snickers and is as sweet as one too!) She’s super friendly, loves to explore all the outdoor scents, and is the perfect size. She came in with her brother from one of our shelter partners in Kentucky but we don’t have any additional background history. She has gone into our canine-inmate program where she will be taught her basic command and continue with lots of socialization. She’s a great little dog…after all, who doesn’t love a Snickers?

Millie

Millie

Breed: Boxer mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: Oct 2016
Size: L, 73 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: yes, 8+
General information: Millie is a large, beautiful dog who was adopted about 2 years ago after she first came to our rescue. She was surrendered back to us after she growled at a child for taking food from her. Her foster parents have worked diligently with a professional trainer and Millie has done wonderfully. They have not any issues with her guarding her food, she knows “leave it” and takes treats gently. Ongoing practice will be essential to reinforce the progress Millie has made. Additionally she has learned multiple obedience commands and is crate trained and housebroken (rings bell to go out.) She likes other dogs (larger is better because of her size during play but she is fine with smaller ones.) She LOVES new people, is good on a leash, and is a genuinely affectionate girl. She would do great with someone looking for a devoted companion that can go along on walks and adventures. More information is available from her foster parents if you’d like to inquire!

Roxy

Roxy

Breed: Toy Fox Terrier mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: Oct 2018
Size: S/M, 20 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Roxy tends to be more of a wallflower vs. life of the party. She is shy initially but comes out of her shell once she feels more comfortable. She’s become buddies with several of the dogs in our canine-inmate program and it seems to boost her confidence. She’s very sweet, dog and people friendly. She’s learning her basic obedience in our program and is doing great! Her handler says that she’s quiet in her crate, good on a leash, and knows several of her commands. She’s a sweet girl who would love to have a forever home of her own.

Josie

Josie

Breed: Chihuahua mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: Small, 11 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Josie will be the best lap companion of all time. She is a “velcro” dog and loves to be with her person. She greets you very enthusiastically, even if you’ve only been gone 5 minutes! She would probably be fine with cats but has not been tested. She currently lives with 2 larger, fairly calm dogs in her foster home and is fine with both. Josie is timid at first and needs some extra time to adjust to new people and places, but once she does, you’re in her circle forever. She is crate trained (she may protest when first going in, but settles down quickly) and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She would do best in a home that isn’t super hectic and with someone that is patient with her sensitive soul. She is a tiny love bug with a giant heart.

Bella

Bella

Breed: German Shepherd mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: Medium, 38 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: no, will chase
Housebroken: has accidents indoors if not let out
General information: Bella is a smart, affectionate, active Shepherd mix who was surrendered to us after the owner realized that they did not have adequate time to care for her. She lived with a young child and is good with kids and other dogs but will chase cats. Her handler tells us that she goes to the door if she needs to go outside to “potty”, but if he doesn’t respond right away then she will have an accident. Bella is a beautiful girl who needs someone who can keep her mind and body active as well as understanding she is still a work in progress!

Hooper

Hooper

Breed: Mixed
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: January 2017
Size: M/L, 55 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: yes
Housebroken: yes
General information: This handsome “tri-pawd” has no idea that he is any different than his 4 legged pals. He’s a happy little chunk of love that adores people, likes other dogs and is in a foster home with 5 cats that he completely ignores. All we know about Hopper’s history is that he was left behind when his family moved and was taken care of by the neighbor. He came into our rescue so that he could find his true forever home. He is genuinely the friendliest boy, loves to be outside to explore all the smells, and most of all loves to give and get affection. He isn’t bothered or slowed down by having 3 legs…he jumps into the car, goes for walks, can do stairs, and enjoys every day. Hopper is an inspiration to everyone he meets and whoever chooses him will have the best companion.
