Otis

Otis

Breed: Chihuahua mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: 2/2018
Size: XS/S, 7 lbs
Housebroken: Yes
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: yes
General information: Little man Otis is about as adorable as they come. He looks bigger in his pictures but he’s only 7 lbs. He was terrified of the shelter environment so he joined our rescue and is thriving in his foster home. His foster mom says he’s a total sweetheart, a super snuggler who loves to burrow under the covers and is house trained. He loves food and treats and also gets along with other dogs and cats. He can be shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly. Otis is an all around wonderful little dog who will be a terrific companion.

Velvet

**Adoption currently on hold as we are unable to schedule meet & greet appointments with the recommendations from the CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.**

Breed: Border Collie (?) mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: May 2018
Size: M, 35 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Velvet is such a sweet girl. She’s learning her basic commands in our canine-inmate program and is very motivated by praise. She is affectionate with her person and will bond closely. She came from a rural county and probably hadn’t had much socialization. She’s friendly to everyone she meets but it might take her a moment to feel brave. She is crate trained, likes other dogs, and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She will do well in a variety of households as long as she continues to get positive reinforcement and consistency.

Britt

Britt

Breed: German Shepherd/Collie/Golden Retriever/mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: February 2017
Size: L, 62 lbs
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Britt is a terrific dog. She is currently in a foster home and her foster mom says she’s laid back, polite, friendly, loves attention, housebroken and hasn’t needed to be crated. She came in with her brother and we believe that they were probably mostly outdoor dogs and left to fend for themselves. Britt is in a home with a large (male) dog and does fine with him. She loves human companionship and would thrive in an environment where she was part of a family or with an individual that could spend time with her on walks and outings. Please fill out an online application in order to meet her.

Andy

Andy

**Adoption currently on hold as we are unable to schedule meet & greet appointments with the recommendations from the CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.**

Breed: Mixed breed
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: January 2017
Size: M, 52 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Andy is an all American mixed breed…possibly some Border Collie, maybe even some Beagle…but it’s hard to say. He is a favorite in our canine-inmate program and his handler there says that Andy is one of the best he’s ever trained. He knows his commands, isn’t destructive, loves to play fetch and play with other dogs in the program. He’s an excellent walking buddy but isn’t super high energy. He’ll curl up with his ball in his mouth and lay by your side at the end of the day. Andy will be a great companion for a family or an active individual.

Gretel

Gretel

Breed: Mixed unknown
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: 7/2019
Size: S/M, est. 25-30 lbs full grown.
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes with consistency
General information: Gretel is a really sweet girl who’s a bit on the shy side. She likes other dogs and one on one time with her person. If she gets a little overwhelmed she simply goes to her kennel and lays down. She came in with her brother, Hansel, who is also in our program. Neither of them seemed to have had much “dog experience” prior to joining us, but both have already learned so many new things. Stairs were a bit of an obstacle at first, but they’ve mastered those as well. Gretel will do well in a household that encourages her to continue to blossom. We have not tested her with kids but suspect that she’d be just fine with them, specifically 5+. She’s camera shy and therefore hard to photograph, but once you meet her in person you’ll see how pretty she is!

Hansel

Hansel

**Adoption currently on hold as we are unable to schedule meet & greet appointments with the recommendations from the CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.**

Breed: Mixed
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: May 2019
Size: M, estimated 35-40 full grown
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Hansel should’ve been named Handsome…just look at that face. He’s a beautiful, medium sized mixed breed, possibly some Beagle in there but hard to say. Regardless of his mix, he’s a sweetheart! He came in with his sister, Gretel from a rural shelter in Kentucky. Hansel is more reserved initially, once he has a few minutes to get to know you, he’ll be your biggest fan. He is part of our canine-inmate program where he will be working on basic commands and general socialization. As with any young dog, it is important to remember that training is an ongoing part of their health and happiness along with daily exercise! Please submit an online application to meet Hansel.

Maximus

Maximus

Breed: Shepherd/Mastiff mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: May 2016
Size: XL, 90 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Max loves everyone he meets including kids and other dogs. He is truly a gentle giant. Max is extremely well mannered, knows a few commands and listens well. He walks nicely on a leash and doesn’t pull. Max is housetrained and crate trained and has a gentle mouth when taking treats. Max LOVES to be outdoors…perhaps he spent a lot of time outside in his former life. He will walk as far and as long as you’d like as many times as you want. We would like Max to have a home where he has people to love and love on him (he is a hugger and a snuggler) and also a fenced yard so that he can spend hours in the sun, snow, or whatever his heart desires. He’s a very special boy.

Jack

Jack

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: July 2018
Size: M, 35 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Jack is a newcomer to our program and getting settled in. He’s very affectionate with his human and likes other dogs as long as he has a moment to interact and not be overwhelmed. He’s lovable, smart and already knows several of his commands. He will let you know when he needs to go outside, likes some toys (others are just “meh”) but his favorite pastimes are being outside smelling all the smells or hanging out with his person. He’s the perfect size to ride along in the car, go for a walk or just curl up next to you.

Chewy

Chewy

Breed: Large mixed
Sex: male neutered
Estimated birthdate: July 2018
Size: L, 65
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: yes
Housebroken: yes
General information: Chewy is a big lug of a boy who was scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding in a small rural shelter. The staff there just loved him and we couldn’t let it happen…so here he is! Chewy lives in a foster home with 2 female dogs and 3 human children and loves them all. He’s still got a lot of his puppy energy and is clumsy, bouncy and playful (he really really likes toys!) He’s crated during the night with no problems, lets you know when he needs to go outside, and is an affection vacuum. Chewy will thrive in an environment where he is truly part of the family. He’s going to be a committed companion who will love with his whole heart.

Lucy

Lucy

Breed: Shepherd mix
Sex: female spayed
Estimated birthdate: May 2019
Size: L, approx 60 lbs full grown
Good with kids: untested
Good with cats: untested
Housebroken: yes
General information: Lucy could possibly win a trophy for Best Ears Ever. She’s still a puppy and based on her current weight it is estimated that she’ll be about 60+ lbs fully grown. Lucy is wicked smart and learns very quickly. She likes other dogs and opens up once she’s familiar with them. As soon as she understands that they’re friendly then it’s an all out play fest! As part of the canine-inmate program, she will begin learning basic obedience and leash walking. She will do best in a home that will continue positive socialization and including her in daily activities.
