Gracie

Gracie is a wonderful dog who has already been trained with excellent manners and is a sweetie to be around! Gracie is a 3.5 year old Lab mix and weighs 50 pounds. Gracie is house trained and does not need to be crated while you are away! With her current foster family, she is left to roam the house while they are at work for 9 hours per day and they come home to nothing but dog toys out of place. Gracie knows how to sit and lay down and is almost there with the come command. She does not beg for people food and will go to lay down on her pillow when told to. Gracie gets very attached to her humans and we know she will return the love you show her ten fold in doggie kisses! Her foster family has rarely seen a dog get so excited when they come back home, even after being gone for just a few minutes! Gracie gets happy feet and in combination with her whole body wagging (not just the tail) it looks like she is dancing! Please consider giving Gracie her forever home. Gracie gets along great with other dogs. No cats please — while she gets along great with cats, she is allergic.

Isaac is an approximately one year old poodle mix and weighs about 8 pounds. He is small but mighty! Isaac was found as a stray and then rescued from a kill shelter in central Ohio. He is new to our program so we are learning more about him while he settles in at his new foster home. Autumn

Autumn is a dachshund/chihuahua mix who is approximately 3 1/2 years old. She is just a tiny bundle of a girl who wants to love and be loved. She was rescued from a kill shelter after having endured life in an unkind home. You would never imagine that this little girl has had such an unpleasant start…she is sweet, friendly, playful and loving. She currently lives in a foster home with another dog and is doing well. She seems to like people of all ages, gets along well with cats, and isn’t a barker!!! She is also housebroken and crate trained. Roger

Roger is a handsome Aussie mix who is a year old and weighs about 40 lbs and was rescued from a kill shelter. His foster mom tells us that he is extremely friendly, loving all people and other dogs as well (he hasn’t been exposed to cats yet.) He is crate trained and knows a few basic commands. Roger is very curious and still has lots of “puppy” in him! He loves his toys and his food and enjoys following his person around the house, curiously watching every move. He needs to be reminded of his house manners and catches on quickly. We are told that he is a big cuddler and loves to be petted…in return he showers you with kisses. Sparkles

* Age: 2-3 years

Sparkles was found hungry and homeless in a park in Lockbourne, Ohio on September 3rd. The little girl that found the cat could not bear to see such a sweet kitty be left to the upcoming cold winter and pleaded with her parents to return the next day with food and water. When the parents arrived the next day, they noticed how malnourished the cat was. Thankfully,an A.D.O.P.T. volunteer was also at the park that day and coordinated a rescue. Sparkles now enjoys all the comforts of a princess in her foster home until she is united with her new family. The vet estimates that she is 2-3 years old (as of September 2010).

Sparkles is very affectionate and gentle Siamese cat with the most beautiful blue eyes. She is clearly not a feral cat. She would be a wonderful addition to a family with kids or for someone who just wants a snuggle bug.

Pogo

* Sex: Male
* Age: 6 months

This is Pogo. Even though he was born in March 2010, he is an old soul. He is thought to be a Chinese Crested mix and was rescued from a kill shelter in Central Ohio. Pogo is currently 7 1/2 pounds and may get up to 14 pounds. He is mostly housebroken (an occasional accident), doesn’t chew on things he’s not supposed to, and is crate trained. He loves kids and adults, gets along wonderfully with other dogs (but hasn’t met any cats yet!) He loves to play, enjoys his walks, but is just as happy to curl up next to you and give kisses. Kara

This is Kara…she is as sweet as she is pretty! Kara is an approximately 2 year old American Eskimo mix (we think!) and was surrendered by an elderly gentleman who was unable to care for her. She is housebroken, crate trained, and knows several verbal commands with hand signals as well. She is not destructive when left alone in the house and does not need to be crated during this time (however, close doors with open trash bins in them because she does enjoy emptying them!) Kara gets along great with other dogs, loves people of all ages, enjoys her walks, loves to fetch, and wouldn’t mind sharing your snack if you let her! Her foster mom says that she is a happy, friendly girl that would make a wonderful addition to any home. An active family or individual would be best for Kara because she loves to play and is a good running companion as well. Mac

Mac is a terrier mix who is approximately a year old. He was found as a stray and wasn’t in very good condition when he arrived. Since being in his foster home, he has gained much needed weight (he is approx. 43 lbs) and will not get any larger. Mac has endured a rough beginning, and through it all he has maintained the most fabulous disposition. There isn’t a mean bone in his body. He loves children, adults, and other dogs, but as far as cats are concerned Mac firmly believes they should be chased, so for the sanity of households with kitties in them we think it best that Mac not be placed in one. He is crate trained and only rarely has an accident (his signs of needing to go outside are very subtle.) This is a wonderful dog who would make a fantastic family pet for anyone lucky enough to have him…

Blizzard (Blizz for short) is a 9 year old bichon. He is a very loving and sweet dog. Blizz loves to play ball and will play until he wears you out!
