Sadie

Sadie is a very affectionate black labrador retriever who is approximately 1.5 – 2 years old. She has a mellow demeanor, is gentle, and does not bark a lot. She may bark if she sees someone walking on the street outside the house (what self-respecting dog wouldn’t?), but she will stop after a couple of times. She loves for you to throw her toys so she can retrieve them for you. She will certainly let you know if she is in a playful mood by bringing you her favorite toy. She likes for you to have to struggle a little to get it from her. She loves to play tug-of-war with our other dog, and does not come off as overly dominant or aggressive. I would imagine she would fit in well with other dogs as she did with ours. She is seeking a home where she can get the love and attention that she so wonderfully brings to others!

Hunter

Hunter is handsome border collie mix and is approximately a year old. Hunter loves attention and is very loving in return. He enjoys playing with other dogs, children and cats. We’re currently working on not jumping, but he is improving every day! He only needs gentle correction and learns quickly. He will sit, lay and shake on command. He does well spending time in his crate while you’re away, but once he becomes acquainted with his new area he will be fine left out. Hunter loves his chew toys/ bones to keep himself entertained! His pictures don’t show his beautiful coloring…he is mainly black but has brown streaks near his muzzle and legs. Cecil

Cecil is a gentle giant. He is an approximately 7 year old Mastiff mix who came to us in poor shape. He was riddled with fleas, intestinal parasites, underweight and ground down teeth from long term malnutrition and neglect. In spite all of this, Cecil has a kind soul and loving disposition. He is mending nicely in his foster home where he lives with an 8 year old child who can take him for easy walks. He is still new to our program, but we know that he is good with people of all sizes, housebroken, doesn’t appear bothered by other animals, and has many good years left in his life! Charlotte

* Breed: Cardigan Corgi mix
* Sex: Female
* Age: 6 mos

Charlotte is a small, about 25 lb, Cardigan Corgi mix that was rescued shortly before she was due to be euthanized.  This little girl is about as sweet as they come! Charlotte is about 90% house trained, very rarely does she have an accident and it is only when she has been in for extended periods of time. GREAT with other dogs.  Right now she is fostered with an 8 week old puppy (no more than 2 pounds) and she plays with her so gentle!  They are wonderful buddies. Fine with cats, chickens, and kids as well. Charlotte loves to play and is active outside, always wanting to fetch and play.  She does have an off switch though and loves to cuddle up and watch a movie. 🙂 This little girl is just a wonderful family dog and ready to go to her new home!

Petunia

* Sex: Female
* Age: < 6 months

Meet Petunia!  She was born 12/21/11 to Daphne, a purebred Chocolate lab (also an ADOPT dog!).  Petunia is larger than her sibling, has a white chest and feet, and is a chocolate brown color. She is more outgoing than her sister Penny.  She loves people and lots of attention, and also loves to carry a tennis ball around in her mouth, dropping it and rolling it along the floor.  She is still very young, is being socialized and displays typical puppy behaviors (like chewing…she is a lab after all!!)  Both girls will be ready for adoption on or about February 11.  Please submit an application if you are interested in meeting one of these gorgeous babies.  We will carefully evaluate all applications and place the puppies in the homes that we feel will be the best fit! Because we are an all volunteer run organization and do a home visit for each of our pets, we regret that we must limit applicantions for Penny and Petunia to the central Ohio area only!

Penny

Penny is a lovely girl, born December 21, 2011. Her mom is a gorgeous purebred Chocolate Lab, and we are not sure about dad! She is a great little size, approximately 30 lbs, is housebroken and crate trained. Penny is good with other dogs and is fostered with a cat as well. She loves people and is well socialized. Penny has mild hip dysplasia (for which she takes an over the counter joint support supplement) but occasionally gets sore in her hind end. Because of this, we would prefer Penny go to a home with children aged 6 or older. She is a total sweetheart and would love to have a family to call her own! Hugo

* Age: ~1.5 years

This is Hugo…he is an adorable Lhasa Apso mix who is approximately 1 1/2 years old. Hugo has quickly won the hearts of everyone he meets! He came from a high kill shelter, was badly matted and needed to be completely shaved due to a neck wound (possibly from an embedded collar) and some smaller wounds on his back. Despite his injuries and neglect, he is loving, affectionate, sweet and has a constantly wagging tail. He has been tested with cats and other dogs and did wonderfully. He was curious but not in the least bit overbearing or aggressive. He is housebroken and crate trained.  Hugo is a wonderful little dog in search of his forever home!  And from what we know about him, anyone adopting Hugo will be lucky to have him!!!

Laney

Laney was born August or September of 2011 and is a small terrier mix (Corgi, Beagle, ???). She was abandoned with her mother and two littermates and taken in by a high kill shelter before making her way to us. She is coming out of her shell and learning about human kindness, how to play, and what a warm bed feels like. She is doing wonderfully with her housebreaking and crate training. Bo

Bo is purebred Basset Hound, born approximately August 2011.  He was rescued by a good samaritan who found him “living” in her yard for several days.  He was extremely thin, so he was taken in and the process of fattening up began!  Bo lives with 3 foster canine siblings and 2 human siblings, all of which he does beautifully with.  He is working on housebreaking and sleeps through the night.  He is your typical affectionate, lazy Basset boy who would love to find a forever home with a couch of his own to snooze on!  If you would like to meet handsome Bo, please submit an online application.
