Honey

“Honey” was the name chosen for this girl because of her sweet disposition. She is a Golden Retriever mix (possibly some Sheltie mixed in) who is approximately 3 years old and 30 pounds. She came in to our rescue very underweight with matted fur and overall signs of neglect. Yet this sunny girl remains happy, easy going and affectionate. She is housebroken, good with kids and people of all ages, and may be ok with cats. She is currently living with a canine foster brother and sister (she does wonderfully with both!), 2 small children, and 2 cats…one of which she likes and the other one she is unsure. Her pictures don’t do her justice…she has lovely markings with white paws, a golden coat, and light ears with black tipped ends. She will make a fabulous companion for anyone who adopts her! Bruce

Bruce is a boxer mix, approximately a year old, and a big bundle of love. He comes from a high kill shelter where his time was drawing near. Bruce was a favorite at the shelter and they asked A.D.O.P.T. to save him, and we’re so glad we did! He is loving, goofy, and an all around happy guy. He loves children, takes his treats gently, and is very affectionate. He is still young and needs to work more on his manners (it’s a puppy thing!) but learns quickly and is eager to please. Cooper

Cooper can be described as 38 pounds of furry love. He’s a Red Heeler mix who is approximately 2 years old. Cooper has many of the wonderful Heeler traits: intelligence, drive, and loyalty. He is extremely affectionate and loves everyone that he meets (and he will let you know!!!) He comes from a kill shelter in rural Ohio where he quickly became a staff favorite. Lily

* Sex: Female
* Age: 1 year

Lily is a very sweet and rather reserved dog with a slender, elegant carriage. She is quiet and well-behaved. She enjoys going for walks (may need some leash-training), chasing rabbits, and being around her human and other dog companions. She does not bark much at visitors or passersby, and has not been aggressive toward her foster parents. Lily does take awhile to warm up, and can be skittish and afraid of loud noises. She has likely had some difficult times with humans in the past which have contributed to her cautious behavior. Once she gets to know you, however, she loves being petted and makes a great companion. She would fit well in a relaxed household where there is not a lot of commotion.

Kenzie is a gorgeous mixed breed pup (Border Collie perhaps, and something larger due to the size of her paws!). We believe she was born around February 2012. She was rescued from a kill shelter in southern Ohio and is doing wonderfully in her foster home. She is working on crate training and on housebreaking and is progressing quickly with both! Duncan is corgi/mutt mix about 3.5 years old. He has a mutt head with a corgi body. He is about 40lbs (10lbs over weight). He is a good boy so far…potty and crate trained, good with kids, cats, and other dogs.

Columbus Pet Expo

The 2012 Columbus Pet Expo is happening this weekend! Pet Expo has everything from rescue groups to veterinarians, contests to shows, and shopping for pet supplies to stuff for humans! Stop by and Play, Learn, Shop, and Adopt!

Where: Veteran’s Memorial (300 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215)
When: Friday, March 23rd from 4 – 9 PM; Saturday, March 24 from 10 AM – 8 PM; and Sunday, March 25th from 11 AM – 6 PM on.
