Snoopy

Snoopy
Update! Snoopy has made great progress! Snoopy is one loving pup! He loves to follow his foster family around and is happy to just snuggle right into bed or onto a lap! Snoopy is housetrained and knows sit and stay. He also knows to leave the kitchen with just a hand command! Snoopy does not beg at the table, but is more than happy to get the leftovers if you offer them to him. Snoopy is still not a big fan of his crate, but his foster family reports that he can usually be trusted to be left out of it anyway. Please consider giving Snoopy the forever home that he deserves!Snoopy formally known as Cashew is the sweetest little beagle. An Snoopy sits him as he always has to know what is going on and will investigate what you are doing. He is housebroken, doesn’t bark except when someone comes to the door, loves snooping outside just as he should. The thing he likes most is sleeping in bed with you and he usually finds the warmest spot. When crated the first night, he was not a happy camper, but he really does not need to be crated. He is eating well with dry dog food and dog treats but is quite the beggar from the table. Cashew appears to be off to a wonderful start to his new life in foster care and is looking forward to a new adopted life. Could that new life be with you? (No kids under 12 please).

Marley

Marley
Marley is a Bichon/ShiTzu mix (Teddy Bear dog) that was born 5/2012.  He is wonderful with all people and other dogs.  Marley was an owner surrender because the family did not have time to properly care for him.  He has a terrific and affectionate disposition but needs time and training.  He is making progress on housebreaking, is good in his crate, and is learning basic commands as well.  He’s motivated and a people pleaser…just needs love and attention.  Marley will make a wonderful companion!  Please fill out an online application if you are interested in meeting this lovely boy.

Casey

Casey
Casey is a Yellow Lab mix that we estimate to be about a year old (born June 2012.)  He has a wonderful disposition and is a typical young Lab with LOTS of energy!  Casey is friendly with all people, other dogs, and lives with cats.   He is housebroken and crate trained. We would prefer no children under the age of 8 simply because of his size and activity level! He will also need a fenced yard or regular daily exercise (if you’re looking for a running partner, this is your guy!) Casey is very intelligent and motivated to learn.  He loves affection and is eager to please.  If you would like to meet Casey, please fill out our online application.

Riley

Riley

Riley is a male boxer mix weighing about 50 lbs. Riley came to us from a kill shelter in Southern Ohio where he was slated for euthanasia due to overcrowding. Riley loves to go for walks, chase laser pointers and play tug of war! He is happiest to curl up and be near his people. This handsome boy knows his basic commands and would be a wonderful addition to any home. If you are interested in meeting Riley, please fill out our online application!

Strikes for Strays Wrap-Up

Strikes for Strays Wrap-Up

Strikes for Strays was a huge success! Many thanks go out to our sponsors for the event: Columbus Square Bowling Palace for hosting us and Two Caterers for providing the food!

We had over 100 bowlers in attendance and raised almost $2000 for our rescue. Now, we’ll be able to save a few more dogs.

Check out some of our photos from the event below.

Michelle

Michelle
Michelle is an adorable Chihuahua mix, born approximately June 2012.  She has proven herself to be a fighter after surviving a significant gastrointestinal illness as a tiny pup. She came through her ordeal and is now active, playful, and extremely affectionate.  If you are looking for a constant companion, Michelle would be happy to fill that spot!  She loves being in your lap, giving lots of kisses, and shadowing her person wherever they go.  She is working on the housebreaking but still needs to be watched closely.  She is crate trained and really loves toys (she will eat them so can only have particular toys). She loves kids, people of all ages and sizes, and other dogs as well. Don’t forget we are always looking for fosters!!

Blondie (aka Buttercup)

Blondie (aka Buttercup)

Meet Buttercup.  She has to be one of the happiest little dogs you could ever meet!  She will even give you a “smile” now and again.  When she first came to us she was a little scared of men but has grown to trust them as soon as they talk to her.  She loves to be next too you and gives kisses all the time!  She adores kids!  She follwed a 1yr old who visited her everywhere!  She loves other dogs too.  She has a Pommie and German Shepherd friend at her foster home.   Her and the Pommie can play for hours.   The Greman Shepherd is older and she has learned to respect him and not bother him unless he wants to play.  She even plays with the cats…when they let her that is.  She is housetrained and knows sit, down and stay (most of the time).  She enjoys being outside so if you like to do things in the yard or go to the park she would love to do that with you.  She keeps trying to catch the deer in her foster homes backyard but so far no luck with that.  But she does chase them back over the fence and away from the garden…what a little helper she is!  All around a great happy little girl who gets along with everyone….won’t you let her bring a little joy into your home?

Rachel

Rachel

Rachel is an adorable Beagle mix looking for a good home. She was pulled from a rural shelter in Ohio where she was the office greeter and a favorite. She loves to play with her canine foster sister and brother. She is extremely affectionate and loves all people. Nylabones are her favorite chew toys. Rachel is a typical Beagle mix and loves to watch/chase birds, squirrels, and anything small that moves (including cats! She will not harm them, but will chase or pester them!) She would do best in a home with a fenced yard and someone who would enjoy taking her for regular walks.

Sammy

* Animal: Dog
* Breed: Poodle mix
* Sex: Male
* Age: 3 years

Sammy is approximately 3 years old. He appears to be slightly larger than a miniature Poodle, possibly mixed? Sammy’s owner had to surrender him after she became ill and unable to care for him. His foster parents say that he is a perfect and lovable lap dog! He is completely housebroken, crate trained and non-destructive in the house. He lives with a cat and gets along wonderfully with her. He LOVES his outdoor walks and playing with his toys. Sammy is described as “a huge cuddler, pretty chill, and perfectly content spending the day napping or curled up on your lap.” All he needs now is a lap to call his own! If you’d like to meet sweet Sammy, please fill out an online application!
