Reyna

Reyna
Help! This sweet little kitten needs a home! She is quite loving and loves to be held and petted and get kitty ‘massages’, however she is very timid at first and so no one will give her a 2nd glance. She will purr and kneed happily while being held though, and especially likes to play with ping pong balls, fuzzy toys and shoe strings. Reyna would be good in a home with other cats and is fine with dogs. No young children please. Won’t you consider this sweet little girl when you think of adopting? (DSH, female spayed, dob 11/21/06, approx 6 lbs)

Justin

Justin
Justin is a 3.5 year old male Pomeranian.  He lives with his foster canine siblings and cats as well.  He adores the elementary aged girl in the house and his foster mom as well.  Justin appears to have had some not-so-nice experiences and is hesitant at first.  If you let him come to you to gain his trust, he does just fine.  We will work on confidence building and reinforcing his trust in people, letting him know that there are some kind ones who will care for him.  He is crate trained and housebroken, but as is with many small breeds he needs to be supervised!  Justin would do well in a quiet (non-chaotic) household with someone who is home during the day.  Once he bonds with you he is very loyal.  He is a lovely little guy who deserves the kindness he’s been missing.
If you would like to meet Justin, please fill out an online application.

Seeking Volunteers

We are looking for an Applications Coordinator. This position requires around 5-10 hours a week and would head a committee responsible for processing applications for the dogs and cats that we take in. If you are interested in learning more about this position or even interested in serving on this committee (around 1-2 hours per month), use our Contact Us page to send a message to our Volunteer coordinator.

Additionally, our rescue is growing as we begin a new Prison Program!!! We need help with the following tasks:

  • Transportation— if you are willing to transport a dog in your car from the vet to the prison or from the prison to a potential forever home.
  • Home Visits— taking the dog to a potential forever home; checking out the home and making the decision to leave the dog in the care of the new family (this requires training).

We could also use some help with these other volunteer opportunities:

  • Leads for Adoption events (ex: Mingle with the Mutts and PetSmart)
  • Cleaning out storage unit
  • Solicitation and Donations

If you are interested in learning more about any of the above positions, use our Contact Us page to send a message to our Volunteer coordinator.

Sarah

Sarah

Sarah is a 4.5 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound.  We suspect she was mistreated in her past and needs gentle guidance.  She is great with other dogs, kids, is housebroken and crate trained.  She will chase cats…not to hurt them, but to give them a run for their money!  Sarah is a sweetheart, not vocal like some hounds, and likes the safety of her crate.  She is very affectionate, loves to play, and would like a family to call her own.  Because of her breed (hounds love to follow their noses) Sarah will do best with a fenced yard. Sarah has seasonal allergies and needs Benadryl.  If you would like to meet Sarah, please fill out an online application.  ***Sarah is part of our canine/inmate prison program.***

Daphne

We recently received a lovely email from Daphne’s new family. Enjoy!
– A.D.O.P.T.

Daphne came to live with us on July 1st of last year.  Missy did wonders for her and we have continued to work with her on a daily basis.  When she came to us, she still had some issues due to the horrible things that happened to her in the past.  I would like to give you an update.
Daphne has learned to walk on a leash.  She no longer barks at every dog and person she sees (we’re still working on some barking but it’s tons better).  She loves to play with her squeaky toys and play chase in the backyard.  Daph holds her head up and is confident.
I have attached a couple of pictures that I thought you would love to see.  Thanks for all you do to save dogs and place them in loving homes.  We are so thankful for Daphne

Things are looking different around here!

You may have noticed that things are looking a bit different around our website! We’ve been working very hard this winter and spring to get our new website up and running with the help of the wonderful Gregg Henry of TripleGInteractive.

Check out our new ADOPT site!

We are very excited about it and we hope you will be too! All of the old information is still here we just moved the menus around so hopefully it’ll be easier for you to find what you are looking for. Also, we’ve moved more of our rescue animals to the front page because that’s why you’re here isn’t it? 🙂

If you are still seeing our old site please refresh your browser or clear your cache.
