Volunteer at FidoFest!

Are you free on Sunday, October 6th??  We would love for you to spend your afternoon volunteering with ADOPT at FidoFest!

FidoFest is located at the Worthington Green (in downtown Worthington) from 12pm-5pm. ADOPT typically has items for sale and our fosters attend to show themselves off to the crowd. We are looking for volunteers to staff our booth and a volunteer to take the lead on planning this event.

If you are interested in spending an afternoon in Worthington with ADOPT, please contact [email protected].  We hope to see you there!!

Volunteer with ADOPT!

Have you been looking for a way to volunteer with ADOPT, but don’t have a lot of time that you can commit to helping out?  Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you!  You can volunteer one afternoon, or every month – whatever your schedule allows!  ADOPT is looking for 2-4 volunteers to assist in loading food at PetSmart and unloading it at the ADOPT Pet Rescue storage unit on the dates listed below:

  • September 11
  • October 16
  • November 13
  • December 11

(NOTE: Times will be determined closer to each date!)

This opportunity will require volunteers to arrive at one location and then travel to a second location to unload food – so meeting and carpooling or having a vehicle to travel to a second location will be necessary.

Please email [email protected] if you are interested and specify your name, the date you prefer or say ALL, the best email address to reach you at, and your phone number! Email [email protected] you have any questions or need more details!

Thank you for your continued support of ADOPT!!  We look forward to volunteering with you soon! 🙂

Duke

Duke

Duke is a beautiful 10 month old (DOB 11/12) Lab mix (part Lab, part Survivor!!)  He is currently 48 pounds and could use a few more.  Duke was chained to a tree most of his life…the chain became embedded in his neck and had to be surgically removed.  Duke could be the poster child for how resilient dogs are!  He is kind, smart, affectionate, LOVES kids, gets along with other dogs and is an all around champion.  He is submissive and sweet, even though it appears that when he had human contact it wasn’t very kind.  He is now enrolled in our canine/inmate program and receiving the training and attention that he deserves.  If you would like to welcome Duke into your family and ensure that he never knows suffering again, please fill out an online application. ***Duke is part of the prision program***

Farrah

Ok seriously, is this the cutest dog you’ve ever seen?!?  Farrah is a 7 month old Heinz 57 mix (Whippet possibly?  Gremlin?)  She is 14 lbs and underweight…she’ll be less than 20 lbs full grown.  Farrah is extremely bright and learns very quickly!  She is affectionate and loves to be near people.  Farrah and her ears are part of our canine/inmate program.  Please fill out an online application if you’d like to meet this little beauty.  ***Farrah is part of the canine prison program***

Chesney

ADOPT received the following update on Chesney. We hope you enjoy it!

We hope you enjoy this picture of Chesney!  He is a little king, and definitely a keeper!! 🙂

Brody

Brody is a 2 year old terrier mix (possibly with Chow).  He is part of our canine/inmate program and is doing wonderfully.  He knows sit, shake, high five and learning new commands as well.  He does well with the other dogs in the program and has learned to walk nicely on a Gentle Leader.  Brody weighs about 35 lbs and is a nicely sized dog.  He has a unique “purple” tongue that looks like he’s been eating a grape popsicle!  Brody has not been cat tested, but does well with everyone that he has met and is an all around nice boy.  Please fill out an online application if you are interested in meeting him.  ***Brody is currently part of the prison program***

Chase

Chase is a purebred Norwegian Elkhound, approximately a year old.  He is stunning and these pictures don’t do him justice!  He weighs about 50 lbs and is fully grown.  Chase is a part of our canine/inmate program and is learning quickly.  He knows most of his basic commands and continues to acquire more.  He is strong on the leash and is being trained with a harness.  The Elkhound is a bold breed, affectionate and independent and tend to watch over their family.  Chase has a wonderful disposition and has done well with the other dogs in the program.  He will need regular exercise to stay happy and balanced.  If you would like to meet this extraordinary boy, please fill out an online application.  ***Chase is currently part of the prison program***
