Donate Crates, Leashes, & Collars to ADOPT!

Looking for a way to help out ADOPT but don’t have the time to volunteer? Well, you can donate supplies instead! 🙂  Now that we are part of the Prison Program, we go through our supply of crates, leashes, and collars very quickly. We are looking for all sizes of all three of these items! If you want to donate any of these items to ADOPT, please contact [email protected] and we will coordinate a drop off or pick up of items.

Thanks for your help, and for thinking of ADOPT!

Shalom (formerly Rio)

ADOPT received the following update on Shalom (formerly Rio). We hope you enjoy it!

Rio has a new name – Shalom – he is my peace from God.  We took him to PetSmart today to pick up a few puppy things – he did great – very social with people as well as other puppies.  We did not crate him last night – he slept in bed with us – so snuggly!  So glad you were able to bring him into our lives!  He is such a good boy!  No trouble with the kittens – the younger kittens seem totally okay with Shalom being here – the five-year old is not happy, but he will deal!  The grand dame Moana is withholding any emotion at this time.  We’ll know in a few days where she stands!
A few pictures – I’m the proud Mama!  The first is Shalom “cat shopping” at PetSmart, Second is Shalom on his “blankie” in my office.  Third Picture – Rio in his bed – I think he’s comfortable here in his forever home.  I know we certainly are!  One small potty accident, but no big deal – to be expected at this stage!
Thanks again and God Bless you for the work you do!
I’ve been singing your praises on FaceBook!  Hope it garners some more adopters for you!
Shalom my friend!

Iris

Iris

Iris is the perfect sweetheart!  She is a one year old Terrier mix weighing about 15 pounds.  She is good with cats (actually runs from some of them 🙂 ) good with kids and other dogs.  She is housebroken and goes in her crate nicely.  Miss Iris is part of our canine/inmate program and would love to have a home of her own.  Please fill out an online application if you would like to meet her. ***Iris is part of the canine/inmate program***

Mohawk

Mohawk is approximately a year old (dob 8/2012) and is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab mix.  He weighs 59 lbs and is a typical goofy Lab boy!  Mohawk is a part of our canine/inmate prison program where he is learning basic obedience commands.  He is friendly, energetic, and playful.  If you would like to meet Mohawk, please fill out an online application. ***Mohawk is part of the canine inmate program***

Ryder

Ryder came to us all the way from Muncie, Indiana where he was scheduled for euthanasia due to overcrowding.  The shelter contacted us because he’s such a nice boy and they couldn’t bear to see him put down.  He is a 2 year old Shepherd mix (possibly with Boxer or Dane?) and is a part of our canine/inmate program.  He is a big boy, loves everybody, and would be wonderful for an active home.  If you would like to meet Ryder, please fill out our online application. ***Ryder is part of the canine/inmate program***

Iggy – Pilot Dogs

Libby

Liberty (aka Libby) was named for her newly found freedom!  She is a 3.5 year old MaltiPoo who has been used for breeding her entire life.  Once she had her last litter, she was discarded.  Now she is finally getting the chance at a life that she deserves!  Libby weighs 10 pounds and could use a couple more.  She is extremely affectionate and loves attention.  She is fine with kids but would prefer a household that she can spend her days lounging on your lap or being near her people.  We would love to see her go to a home where she is not crated all day since she has spent most of her years confined. She is good with other dogs, unknown with cats. She is participating in our canine/inmate program.  To meet this sweet girl, please fill out an online application. ***Libby is part of the prison program***

Birdie

ADOPT received the following update on Birdie. We hope you enjoy it!

Just wanted to let you know that Birdie is doing fine. She has been sleeping out of her kennel and is quite the bed hog. She still uses her kennel when we’re not home and does very well. She and our “granddog” Macy get along marvelously – maybe too much so! They both sleep for days after a weekend together. As you can see from the attached photo, they look like sisters. We call Birdie “mini me” when Macy is around. It’s still hard to get a good photo of her – she moves too fast!

Thanks for bringing her into our lives.

Ginger is a Dachshund mix born approximately April 2013.  She is a typical puppy and requires regular exercise and activity.  She is good with other dogs, cats, and likes kids! She is a social little girl who is a cuddler and likes lots of attention.  Ginger would do well with an active family or a canine playmate.  If you would like to meet this cutie, please fill out an online application.

Marty

Marty

Marty is a handsome little Jack Russell Terrier mix. True to the JRT breed, Marty is spirited, loving and intelligent. He gets along with most other dogs but not with all males. He is housebroken and knows several basic commands. He loves to be near people, whether it’s sitting in your lap, laying close by, or running around believing that he’s in charge!
