Apollo Update

We wanted to provide everyone with an update on Apollo, our little pup with Parvo. He went to My Vet Sunday (March 2) night and began treatment after he tested positive. He also has intestinal parasites which have been addressed but he’s pretty run down. Both Drs Bishop are cautiously optimistic that he can pull through this. His improvement is slow, but it is improvement none-the-less.

Here’s where things stand with his medical costs:

Total medical costs for Sunday night through tonight (Weds) $565.00
We’ve received $458.00 in donations.

We’d really like to help this guy pull through and fight off this nasty illness.

Can you help us pay for his medical treatment by making a donation

This beautiful 10 week old boy has Parvo. For those who don’t know, Parvovirus is a devastating illness for puppies. It is expensive and takes time to treat. He was thrown away once before and we refuse to “not care” for him now. We do care. Please help us get Apollo through this nasty illness.

Consider making a donation. Include a note in your donation that you are donating to help with Apollo’s treatment. Thank you!

Peach

Peach is a terrier mix who came to us from a hoarding/neglect case. She was timid, underweight and nursing her only surviving pup, Daisy. Peach had been kept outdoors and the rest of her litter did not survive. She is now in a foster home and ready to find a family that will love her forever. She is very sweet, loves to snuggle, and has been a wonderful momma. She has come out of her shell and is a happy tail wagging girl. She is a wonderful little lap dog that adores all the attention she has been missing most of her life. Peach will be available for adoption after February 9th, when her baby Daisy is old enough to leave her. If /you would like to meet this sweet little “peach”, please fill out an online application.

PAI Yoga Event – Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who came out for our event at Pai Yoga Friday February 3rd! We raised $137 in donations that Pai Yoga matched bringing our total to $274! We will be able to save another dog with that donation. Thank you again to Pai Yoga for hosting us and for your generous donation!

Daisy

Daisy

Daisy is the only surviving puppy from a litter of 10. She and her mom (Peach) came to us from a hoarding/neglect case and none of her brothers or sisters survived the freezing conditions that they were kept in outside. She is currently in a foster home receiving the care she desperately needed. Daisy will be ready for her forever home after February 9th, when she is old enough to leave her mom. She will be a small sized terrier mix. Because of her young age, this lovely girl will be available in the Columbus area only. Please fill out our online form if you’€™d like to meet Daisy.

Phoenix needs our help

“Phoenix” is a term now used to describe a person or thing that has become renewed after great suffering. We thought this would be a fitting name for this husky mix, since it is apparent by his scars that he has suffered in his past. Can you help him?

Phoenix_crop

Phoenix isn’t fancy. He’s not a designer breed, he’s not a roly poly puppy, he’s not a looker. He is, however, gentle, affectionate, and patient. He’s been waiting his whole life for someone to think he’s amazing. From the embedded collar wound, the scars on his face, and the wounds on his legs, he has known great neglect. He won’t chew your stuff, he won’t pee everywhere, and he’s not a barker. He just wants to “be.” He’s about 5 yrs old, 61 lbs, and as we’ve discovered, has occasional seizures. Because he needs medicine, he can no longer stay in our prison program. Phoenix needs a family, desperately.

Can you give him a place to lay his head, be the person who finally thinks he’s amazing? Because he is.

Because of Phoenix’s medical needs we’re requesting donations to help offset the cost. If you are able to donate please go to our donation page and use the method that’s easiest for you.

If you donate through PayPal, please use the Donor Name and Address field to let us know that are donating in Phoenix’s name as well as provide us with your name and address. Thanks so much for helping!

Phoenix

Phoenix

“Phoenix” is a term used to describe a person or thing that has become renewed after great suffering. This is appropriate for this husky mix, since it is apparent by his scars that he has suffered in his past, but he has moved on from that and is thriving in his foster home. Phoenix is an older boy but still has plenty of spunk, especially now that he has remembered how much fun being a dog is! He is sweet, curious, and affectionate, and gets along well with his canine sisters and feline brother. Phoenix does have epilepsy, but his condition is managed well with daily medication. If you are interested in adding a little fun to your life and gaining the love of this loyal guy, please fill out an online application.
Estimated birthdate: 2009
Weight: 65 lbs
Good with dogs: yes, after proper introductions
Good with kids: ok, but would not recommend a home with kids under 8
Good with cats: will chase
Housebroken: yes

Max

Max
Max is a beautiful Black Lab (mix?) He is currently 65 lbs but we would like to see him closer to 70+. Max was found as a stray and ended up in a kill shelter before joining A.D.O.P.T. He has a very affectionate disposition and loves to be with people. He will sit at your side and place his paw on you, almost as if to be sure you are still there! Max has joined our canine/inmate program where he is learning his basic commands and how to walk well on a leash. He is a typical young Lab with an athletic build and needs regular exercise. If you would like to meet Max, please fill out an online application.
