Ava

Ava

Ava is a stunner! She is a Husky mix with the most striking blue eyes! Ava is a wonderful girl with typical Husky behaviors…she loves to play ball, tug of war, be near you as much as possible and “talks” to you as well (not by barking, but vocalizing!) She is housebroken and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and rides nicely in the car. Ava was surrendered due to the family not having enough time for her and she craves attention. She will be going to the canine/inmate prison program on 5/21 where she will learn her basic commands. Ava is intelligent and eager to please, she will be a wonderful companion for an active household or an individual that has the time for her. A fenced yard is best due to her breed and long periods alone will not be an ideal environment. If you think that you would be able to provide Ava with a wonderful home and would like to meet her, please fill out an online application.

Dixie

Dixie

Dixie is the cutest little girl! She and her sister Mocha came in from a rural kill shelter where they had been picked up as strays. Both girls were in poor condition but are gaining weight and feeling better! We believe they are Dachshund/Terrier mixes, 15 lbs and will not get much larger. Both girls are somewhat timid at first but very willing to snuggle up and give little kisses. Dixie is the more outgoing of the sisters, willing to explore and investigate. If you are looking for a little companion who will be grateful for love and give love in return, Dixie is your girl. Please fill out an online application if you would like to meet her.

Mocha

Mocha

Mocha is a Dachshund mix who arrived with her sister Dixie from a rural kill shelter. The girls were found as strays and in poor condition. Mocha is getting a nice new coat in (hers was sparse and brittle from poor nutrition) and she is coming out of her shell. She is more shy than Dixie, but willing to give people a chance. She is gentle and sweet…gaining confidence every day. If you are looking for a lap companion or just a nice buddy to snuggle with, please fill out an online application to meet Mocha.

Tessie is a one and a half year old Lhasa Apso mix…we’re not sure with what, but it must’ve been cute! She’s a lovely little dog and gets along with everyone. Tessie has a sweet disposition and has been learning basic commands in our canine/inmate program. She came to us from a rural kill shelter and would love to find her forever family. If that’s you and you’d like to meet her, please fill out an online application.

Oakland Park Elementary – Penny Harvest

Oakland Park Elementary – Penny Harvest

ADOPT Pet Rescue had the distinct honor of being the recipient of funds raised by Oakland Park Elementary School in their 2014 Penny Harvest fundraiser. Monday, Kira and Kody (an ADOPT save from 6.5 years ago) met with 300 students and ADOPT was presented with a check for over $1000! We’re amazed that the students were able to raise this money and then chose us as their recipient. We are very grateful for the generosity demonstrated by the Oakland Park’s students and look forward to putting this hard earned money to good use saving more dogs. Thank you so much for this wonderful donation!

Luna

Luna

Luna was surrendered to A.D.O.P.T. due to a change in family circumstances. She is a lovely and sweet dog who wants very much to be part of a home again. She is currently in our canine/inmate program and doing well with her obedience. She is housebroken, crate trained, does well with other dogs and kids. We are not certain of her breed mix (good ole fashioned Heinz 57) but she certainly is cute! We will add more pictures as we get them! If you would like to meet Luna, please fill out an online application.

Zoe

Zoe

Zoe is a stunning Collie mix. She was surrendered with her sister Jasmine because their were too many animals on the farm property and the residents could no longer care for them all. She is somewhat shy at first, but is very affectionate and gentle. She likes to lean in and give “hugs.” Zoe has a gorgeous coat with beautiful grey and black markings. She is part of our canine/inmate program, very intelligent and learning quickly. If you would like to meet Zoe, please fill out our online application.

Daphne

ADOPT recently received this update from Daphne’s family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 🙂

On July 1st, 2012, we adopted Daphne from A.D.O.P.T. in Westerville, OH. On that day she was a little wild and very unsure. For months she drooped her head low, kept her eyes narrow and her tail tucked. She would bark at any little noise. She was so scared.

This is her today. She’s our baby now and we couldn’t imagine life without her. She is calm, submissive and happy. She likes to play in her yard, go for rides, and get treats. She is very smart and learns quickly. Mostly she loves to cuddle and loves her toys!

Thank you so much for saving her and bringing her into our lives.
