Sassy

ADOPT received the following update from Sassy’s new family. We hope you enjoy it! 🙂

Hello! I just wanted to send a quick note thanking all of you at A.D.O.P.T Pet Rescue. We had such a great experience adopting Sassy from you; all of the volunteers and staff were so nice over email and Amy with the prison program was (and continues to be) very helpful. We absolutely love Sassy! She is such a sweet girl and a very good dog. She loves playing outside, cuddling up with us, and running around with all of her friends at the dog park! We’re so happy we were able to give her a home. Thanks again! 🙂

Luna

ADOPT received the following update from Luna’s new family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 🙂

Luna is as wonderful as we had hoped she would be! She was friendly, but aloof when we first brought her home, which was to be expected. However, over the weekend, she really bonded with us and fits right in with our family. She is just a sweet heart and everyone that has met her has fallen in love with her. Needless to say, we will be keeping her. 🙂

Thank you so much for saving her and helping us bring her into our family.

Lacey

Lacey

Lacey is a 5 year old Great Pyrenees/Chocolate Lab mix. She was originally adopted from our rescue but came back to us because the family decided that 3 small children and 2 new puppies were too much. She was adopted again but her owner fell on hard times and lost her home. This poor girl just needs a stable loving place to call home. Lacey loves to be pet and close to her family. She enjoys playing outside and going for walks. Lacey knows her basic commands, is housebroken, crate trained and is a complete snuggler. At first she can be shy around new people and men, but it just takes a little patience and time and she warms up! Lacey would do best as an only pet in the household (she doesn’t like to share her treats or food with other dogs.) Children are ok, but preferably 10 and up. Lacey is in a foster home locally, so if you’d like to meet this sweet girl, please fill out an online application.

She is in our canine/inmate program where she will continue to learn basic commands. Lucy loves to be near people and is friendly towards everyone that she meets. Catahoula’s need time and attention, they love to be with their people and will not do well left alone or crated for long hours. If you would like to meet Lucy, please fill out an online application!

Sampson

Sampson
This all American boy wins the hearts of all who encounter him. Want a playmate for your canine?  Sammie is a dog’s dog.  Want your kids to have a companion to talk to and play with? Yep Sammie can fill that void too. Want a friendly supervisor while you do yard work? Guess who can apply for that position? Yep, it’s Sammie, he is fantastic at that too!!
Sam has fit in quickly and so easily with his foster family. At 13 wks old (as of July 9th) he romps and runs with his foster canine friends who are 15 lbs and 75 lbs.  big or small Sammie likes them all.  He is crate trained and even prefers to go in to his crate and curl up for a nap without being prompted.
Snuggling – perfected it.
Cuteness – check, go it.
Basic commands – in training and responding well.
Squeaky toys and stuffies – he loves them! Fun is defined by walking around making random squeaks with his toys.
It appears that Sampson is a German Shepherd mix but his paws and weight indicate that he will be much smaller than a Shepherd.  For some reason he seems to photograph “big”. We were shocked when we saw him in person. He really is a “little guy” at 18 lbs. (as of July 9th).  Truly what a joy he is. We have thoroughly enjoyed Sampson and will be delighted to see him placed in his awesome forever home.
DOB: April 2014
Weight: Current 18 lbs (expected 45-50?)

Good with cats: yes
Housebroken: almost!

Gus

Gus

Meet Gus, a ridiculously cute German Shepherd mix pup with ears big enough to catch a satellite feed! He and his brother Sampson came to us from a kill shelter in rural West Virginia. Each boy was very thin but are making up for it now in their new foster homes. They are being socialized with people of all ages and learning what it’s like to be happy and healthy pups. Because they are so young, they will need to be adopted within the Columbus area only so that we can continue their vaccination series and have them neutered once old enough. If you think Gus is the one for you, please fill out an online application.

Farley

Farley

This handsome Black Lab was surrendered to us due to the family not having enough time for him. He was left alone crated for long hours every day, didn’t receive any exercise and became destructive in the home. Farley is now in our canine/inmate program and has become a favorite! He is happy, playful, loves other dogs and people of all ages. He would do best in a home where he had human or other canine companionship. Even though he’s 6 years old, he has many many good years ahead for a family to enjoy. If you would like to meet this big boy, please fill out an online application.
