Bonnie

Bonnie

Bonnie Blue Eyes is as sweet as she is gorgeous. She is approximately 1.5-2.0 yrs old and a Husky mix, possibly with Beagle. She hasn’t met a person that she doesn’t like and she does well with other dogs. She’s curious, playful, and very affectionate. She came from a rural kill shelter but has been loved at some point. She knows a few basic commands and is working on leash manners in the prison program. Bonnie is a perfect size and would do well in a home where she can socialize with people and get regular activity. She’s not overly energetic but due to her breed combination will need to be exercised. If you would like to meet Bonnie, please fill out an online application.

Pickles (formerly Parker)

ADOPT recently received an update on Pickles (formerly Parker) from his forever family!  We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂

The kiddos named him and he has been a fabulous addition to our house. He is doing great, and is potty trained and crate trained and working on his commands. He walks on a leash well and has been an awesome and tolerant friend to all of our kids, even our rambunctious 3 year old. Thank you so much for all of the work you and your volunteers do to help homeless animals.

Bentley

Bentley

Bentley is a stunning German Shepherd/Aussie mix with the most amazing blue eyes. He is somewhat underweight at 50 lbs. Bentley came from a hoarding situation and has spent the last year outside on a chain. He is getting adjusted to his surroundings and doing very well. He has entered into our canine/inmate program where he is learning basic commands. We have not had him exposed to cats or to kids so are unsure how he does with either. He is somewhat shy at first, understandably, but warms up quickly with the first ear scratch! If you are interested in meeting this boy with the blazing blue eyes, please fill out an online application.

Abby

Abby

Abby is a young Beagle mix who is new to our program. She was very timid when she first arrived but has shown herself to be very affectionate and loves human contact. She is not familiar with what to do on a leash but she is more than happy to let you carry her like a baby! She is a typical puppy that will need socialization, training, and housebreaking. Because of her young age, she is available to applicants in the immediate Columbus, OH area only. We would like to consider others but Abby will still need her booster shots and her spay surgery which will be done by our local certified veterinarian. To meet this precious puppy, please fill out our online application.

Let’s generate some “Likes” for ADOPT – and Hutta & Hutta Orthodontics!

ADOPT is so excited to be teaming up with Hutta & Hutta Orthodontics in Westerville! Brothers and Drs. J. Lawrence Hutta & James T. Hutta have joined forces to open a practice together and they love giving back to the community that they live in and love. So, for every new follow to their Facebook page in the month of May, they’ll be donating $1 to our rescue! Please give them a follow (and schedule an appointment if you’re looking for a great orthodontist) so Hutta & Hutta can write an even bigger check to help animals find happy, local homes!  Thanks to the Drs. Hutta and to all of you for the support!!

Trixie

Trixie

Trixie is a purebred Boston Terrier who is very petite at only 10 lbs. She was purchased from a “breeder” in Michigan but our suspicion is that it was a backyard/puppy mill breeder. She was purchased when she was 9 months old but had never been socialized. The family that had her didn’t have the time to teach her how to be a dog….socialization, regular walks, consistent training…all the things Trixie will need not to be afraid of the world. Boston Terriers, by nature, are very happy and clownlike. Right now Trixie is a worrier. She loves to snuggle, she loves to be held, she walks on a lead but she is afraid of new environments and overwhelming situations. She would do well in a quiet home where she can be someone’s companion. A home with older children (8+) would be ok but due to Trixie’s anxiety at this time it would be beneficial for her to have a fairly low key household. If you think you would and Trixie would be a good match, please fill out an online application.

Duncan

ADOPT recently received a picture of Duncan from his new forever family!  Duncan came to ADOPT from a hoarding situation…he was petrified and anxiety ridden. He was adopted and then returned back to us. Upon his return, he went into a foster home where his foster mom’s aunt & uncle met him and fell in love! They have another dog that Duncan has become best friends with, and they are happy to report that he is doing wonderfully. He plays outside, has learned to LOVE treats, loves his bath time, and does not pee in the house. No more bad days for this boy!!

We hope you enjoy seeing Duncan smiling as much as we did!! 🙂

Chaz

Chaz

Chaz is a great dog looking for his forever home. He was recently an owner surrender after having been adopted last fall. The family had 2 small children and found that they didn’t have sufficient time for him. He is approximately a Shepherd mix (with something smaller and obviously very cute!). He is great with kids, great with other dogs, very friendly, housebroken, and an all around wonderful boy. He is energetic but not hyper…daily walks or some sort of exercise (like all dogs) is all he needs. If you would like to meet Chaz and give him the opportunity to charm you, please fill out an online application!
