ADOPT recently received an update on Bodie from his forever family! We hope you enjoy the update as much as we did!! 🙂
I just wanted to let you know that Bodie is doing so fantastically well! He and Lily have become tight buds; he LOVES to run and often does 5-6 miles with my husband; and he has turned into a total Velcro dog often literally sticking by my side for hugs and attention. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dog show me the gratitude he does. I can literally feel and see him telling me thank you for loving him, for trying to understand him. He is such a sweetheart and has been a tremendous blessing to our family. Thanks so much for trusting us with him. I hope you are well and that things are going well with ADOPT. I’ve referred several people looking for love!
Priscilla is an adorable Cairn Terrier mix. She is currently is underweight at 22 pounds. She has a very “sunny” disposition and is a happy, affectionate girl. Typical to her terrier breed mix, she is energetic and curious. She loves to be near people and part of the action! Priscilla has joined our canine/inmate program where she will work on basic commands. She will make a loving companion to any household. If you would like to meet Priscilla, please fill out an online application.

We suspect Domino is a Springer Spaniel/Beagle mix (and there may be a bit of Bassett in there as well!). He is a sweet boy who loves to be around people. Domino came to us with a skin infection, most likely a flea dermatitis, and also an ear infection. He is being treated for both and we expect him to fully recover. His hair is patchy in places but once the infection is resolved, he will be even more handsome! Domino is overweight and needs to lose approximately 6 pounds. He has entered into our canine/inmate program where he will be given proper nutrition and also learn his basic commands. He is interested in his surroundings and always watching the action around him. Domino has a gentle disposition and will be a wonderful companion. If you’d like to meet this boy, please fill out an online application.

Bourbon is an adorable Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix. His coat is long and wiry yet is still soft. Bourbon has been with us for quite some time and he is ready for his forever home. He was found originally with a choke collar and chain around his neck before being taken into our rescue, so we’re not sure what his past life was like. Bourbon is fine with kids but does not do well with cats. He tolerates some male dogs but does not like others…therefore we feel he would do best in a home as an only dog or with a female dog companion. He knows all of his commands very well, is affectionate and fun loving, and will make a great companion. We can’t understand why he’s still in the program because he’s such a great dog. If you’d like to meet Bourbon, please fill out an online application.

Baxter is an adorable Yellow Lab mix. He looks like a large Lab that was thrown in the dryer and shrunk!! He was surrendered in a rural county by people that kept him tied outside. He is just now learning about the comforts of being indoors. Baxter is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He enjoys being around people and does fine with other dogs as well. He has not been cat tested and is learning basic commands and leash manners in the canine/inmate program. Baxter is energetic and LOVES playing ball. He would let you throw it all day long and never stop fetching! If you would like to meet Baxter and give him a loving home, please fill out an online application.

ADOPT recently received a picture of Baron (formerly Chaz) from his new family! His new family – including new sister Zoe – simply adores him! We hope you enjoy the update as much as we did!! 🙂
Oh Henry! This puppy is absolutely adorable! He was part of an unexpected litter, mom is a Black Lab and dad is a traveling salesman! Henry is only six months old and was kept in a crate his whole life before being rescued by a dog warden. He had to be shaved because of the conditions he was kept in but his hair will grow back, probably very thick and long. He is just now getting a taste of freedom, experiencing the feel of grass under his feet and kindness from humans. He has entered into our canine/inmate program so that he can learn some basics and most importantly get the socialization that he needs. Henry is very alert, always watching his surroundings, and loves being outdoors. If you would like to meet this teddy bear pup, please fill out an online application.

Dylan is an athletic, driven, and highly intelligent German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix and is absolutely gorgeous. He was literally saved an hour before being euthanized and been in a foster home since. When Dylan first arrived he was very nervous and reactive towards other dogs. He was initially in our canine/inmate program but the environment proved to be too stressful for him. Because he seemed to be showing signs of fear aggression, he was pulled from the program and placed in a dog-savvy foster home. Dylan immediately began to relax and we are so pleased to see his progress. He has since been worked with professionally by Daniel Carter, owner and Head Trainer of Off Leash K-9. Dylan has been completely trained in his obedience commands and has been very successful in mastering what has been asked of him. Daniel will train Dylan’s new owner on the proper use of his e-collar and commands.
We are looking for a specific type of home environment for Dylan. He will need regular daily exercise and a fenced yard. He must be the only pet in the home…while Dylan has successfully played and interacted with other dogs, we know that he can get pretty ramped up around them and in order to ensure his success we feel it’s best that he is the “only.” He has been fine around kids, but again, we want Dylan to continue with his positive progress and not risk him getting overly excited! If you are looking for an amazingly bright, energetic companion who has been professionally trained, then you should meet Dylan! If interested, please fill out our online application!

Teddy is a wonderful dog who has been with our rescue since Spring. He’s friendly, likes other dogs, and is an all around happy boy. He has a stocky build, weighing 55 lbs but has shorter legs and stands about knee high. We believe him to be a Spaniel mix because of his build and wavy coat. Teddy has seasonal allergies and we think that’s why he’s been overlooked. He gets flare ups which involve his skin and coat and will sometimes require medication to control his itching. He goes for long periods without issue and just needs someone to be aware that when it starts bothering him it’s very easy to address and control. He is energetic and loves to play with other dogs but isn’t good with cats. Teddy will make a great companion for a busy family or an individual that will walk and play with him. If you would like to meet this unique boy, please fill out an online application.
