Mastiff/Lab puppies – females

Meet the newest members of ADOPT! These adorable pups are 7 weeks old (11/11/15) and will be ready for their new homes within the next week. Dad is a Mastiff, Mom is a chocolate lab, and these adorable babies are CUTE! There are two males and two females in this litter.
We will be placing the puppies into homes based on matching their personalities to the home of the applicant. Please specify on your application if you prefer a male/female/or either. Adopting a puppy can be an exciting time, but once the “novelty stage” wears off, you must be committed to developing a healthy relationship by putting in hard work and remaining dedicated. Training, socialization, supervision, proper nutrition and vet care are all components of bringing a new family pet home. Because we are anticipating a high volume of applications for these pups, please be aware of our requirements and have patience while we select the best matches!
All applicants must be in the greater Columbus area.
Puppies will be seen by our certified veterinarian in Westerville or Grove City for their booster shots and spay/neuter surgery. You will be required to make and keep these appointments!
Puppy/large breed experience is preferred.
No children under the age of 2 (simply because puppies require time and attention and it is difficult to be a superhero!).
DOB: September 2015
Weight: At 7 weeks old: 5-8 lbs. All pups are expected to be large (60+ lbs.) when full-grown
Breed Mix: Dad is a Mastiff, Mom is a Chocolate lab

Maggie Moo

Maggie Moo

Maggie Moo is a wonderful Border Collie mix with unique black and white markings. When she first arrived she was very frightened and very thin. Fortunately Maggie is a smart girl and learned quickly that it feels wonderful being petted and having a full belly! Since she has joined our prison program she has emerged from her shell and is very affectionate. Maggie is working on her confidence, obedience, and learning how to “just be a dog!” She will be a great addition to any home. If you would like to meet this sweet girl, please fill out an online application!

Sunny

Sunny

Sunny is a Yellow Lab mix (possibly with Energizer Bunny!) She is a typical young, playful, bouncy lab girl who wants to love and be loved. She is most likely full grown and may fill out a bit more. Sunny has entered into our canine/inmate prison program where she is working on her leash manners and basic obedience. Sunny would do well in an active home, as a running partner, or with another canine buddy. If you would like to meet Sunny, please fill out an online application.

Lily

Lily

Lily Van Gogh came to our rescue emaciated and with a terrible ear wound. She had to have half of her right ear removed but she is healing wonderfully and we think it makes her even more special! Lily loves other dogs and is discovering how to romp and play. She was timid around men but is currently lives with a foster dad and 3 foster (canine) brothers. She is learning that hands can be gentle and that beds are pretty comfy! Lily is actually quite the cuddler and will do well in a home that shows her patience, kindness, and love. We are unsure of Lily’s Heinz 57 breed mix but suspect a “bully” mix of some sort. Please fill out an online application if you’d like to meet her.
Estimated birthdate: November 2014
Weight: 24 lbs (should be closer to 30)
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Housebroken: in progress

Ramsey

Ramsey

Ramsey is named after Chef Ramsey, because he really likes to eat! He is very thin but is doing an excellent job making up for missed meals! Ramsey is thought to be a Beagle/Bulldog mix, possibly some Bassett as well. He has a short docked tail and sweet droopy eyes. He has a wonderful disposition, loves everyone that he meets, and is extremely friendly. He is working on leash manners (still is a strong puller) and also on basic obedience. Very little attention had been paid to him before he joined our group, but despite his neglect he is sweet and always happy. He was very interested in cats but was not aggressive, however, he would most likely chase and pester.
Ramsey will make a wonderful companion in any setting.
Estimated birthdate: August 2013
Weight: 35 lbs (needs to be closer to 40)
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown but suspect will chase
Housebroken: yes

Schroeder

Schroeder

This little peanut has won our hearts in such a short amount of time! Schroeder came to us at 6 weeks old after a good samaritan took him in. He was being given away, along with the rest of his litter, and they were all in pretty rough shape. His little 3.5 lb body was riddled with fleas and worms but has gotten the vet care he needs and lots of TLC in his new foster home. He is being guided by very patient adult dogs and a family that is introducing things like potty training, crate training, and what it’s like to have regular meals. We are not sure of Schroeder’s breed heritage, but mom appeared to be a medium sized Lab mix and dad is unknown. Because of Schroeder’s young age, he will need to be adopted in the Columbus area in order to complete his vaccinations and neuter when old enough. If you would like to give this cutie his forever home, please apply online!
Estimated birthdate: August 2015
Weight: 3.5 lbs (full grown weight unknown)
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: most likely
Housebroken: no, learning!

Valentina

ADOPT recently received an update on Valentina from her forever family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂

Hi! I thought you might like some updated pictures of Valentina.
She is now 41 lbs and all muscle and is taller. She is healthy, spoiled and happy. She has taken on more Border Collie features as she has aged. There are now brown patches of soft fur under each of her ears and between her toes.
We celebrated her birthday in August. She has moved to regular dog food and loves rides in the car or suv. She has two friends in the neighborhood that she plays with and she runs with me (afternoons) and takes walks in the morning. She is good at taking baths but she doesn’t like shots or having her toenails clipped.
I still give her ice cubes when we come in from playing in the yard or a run (loves Frisbee and tennis balls and has lots of toys). She still gets kibble and bits as a treat and she loves pigs ears and we have a bone (pictured) that we freeze with peanut butter inside once in awhile.
She has never had people food and she still has her manners. While she has the run of the kitchen all day when she isn’t outside…we keep her crate in the kitchen and she moseys on in for a nap once in the while. She sleeps and snuggles on my bed each night and snuggles on the couch and chairs in the kitchen.
She is well loved and a great addition to our family!
