Bubble

Bubble

Meet Bubble! Bubble is one of Tipper’s puppies we saved on Christmas Eve from a horrible hoarding situation in WV. Mom is a Lab/Weimeraner, and Dad is unknown. Bubble is the Alpha of the three puppies in her litter. She is a big fan of winning at tug of war, and pinning her siblings on their backs until they say “Uncle”. She is growing super fast, and at five weeks old, will eat some puppy food, start something with her siblings, then promptly fall asleep in the middle of it. She comes when you call her, and she couldn’t possibly be any sweeter or more playful. She wants to be wherever the action is, and will make a great addition to someone’s family.

Tipper

Tipper

Meet Tipper! Tipper is a sweet, silly, energetic, and very smart approximately two year old Weimaraner/Lab mix. We rescued her on Christmas Eve with her 3 puppies from a horrible hoarding situation in West Virginia. She loves to chase and be chased. She was named “Tipper” because she enjoys tipping her food bowl over to play with it! So we got an untippable food bowl and that fixed that. She’s very interested in small wild animals and any hole in the ground. She walks well on a short leash, and really just wants to be by your side. She would make a great walking or running partner for someone with a little patience that is willing to work with her. She has had very little human interaction, so she needs training, but she is very eager to please. She’s such a loving dog, and just wants to cuddle or be near you, plus she hardly ever barks! She seems pretty calm for being only two, and she’s a great mama to her babies. She also learned in only two days that alerting the need to go out will get her outside in time to do her business.
She will make a loyal and loving companion to a lucky family.

Kona

Kona

Kona is a 3 year old purebred Husky that came to us as an owner surrender. They were in a small apartment and weren’t able to give this gorgeous boy the time and exercise that he needs. Kona is new to our program so we are getting to know him better. He has the typical Husky personality…goofy, energetic, playful, and affectionate. Kona has entered into the prison program where he will work on his basic obedience training. An ideal home for Kona will be one that understands the needs of this beautiful breed and takes the time to exercise him. He is friendly, happy-go-lucky and will be a great companion. Fenced yard preferred.

Athena

Athena

Athena is a resilient and beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier mix. We were notified about Athena when she was in a rural kill shelter, being overlooked and slowly giving up. She arrived with a broken soul, but has since begun emerging from her shell and learning how nice it is to be with caring people. Athena currently lives with canine foster brothers in a quiet foster home. She is socialized daily and is doing well meeting new people, although she can be timid at first. She is a gentle girl, loves her walks and outdoor play time, and snuggling up near her person and her canine friends. Athena has never shown any signs of aggression whatsoever but because of her initial shyness we feel that a home with children 12 or older would be best. Patience, continued socialization, exercise, and basic TLC is all this beauty needs to fully blossom. Athena has brought joy to her followers on social media and to all that she’s met in person…we hope she finds that special home that sees her true potential. If you would like to meet Athena, please fill out an online application.

JJ

JJ

JJ is an adorable Terrier mix who joined us from a rural Kentucky kill shelter. He is a pint sized package of happiness. Not much fazes JJ, he’s just happy to be out socializing with everyone he meets. He is currently in our canine/inmate program learning his basic commands. He is a joyful little guy who would fit in well with any household.

Pearl

Pearl

Black Pearls are said to be lucky charms, protecting the owner from negative energy. Anyone lucky enough to have this Pearl will see why! She is a beautiful Lab/Retriever mix and the perfect size. Pearl arrived after being surrendered from a neglectful home, but she has shown no negative effects. She is happy, playful, loving and very intelligent. She is the perfect size and much prettier in person (black dogs don’t photograph well!) Pearl loves people and does well with other dogs and cats. She will be a fantastic addition to any household that is willing to show her affection and give her adequate exercise.

Skipper

Skipper

Skipper is a gorgeous Lab/Great Pyrenees mix that recently arrived with 3 of his siblings. He is the largest of the group and we anticipate he will be 60+ pounds. He is currently doing well in his foster home and loves to play, be outdoors, and cuddle. Skipper came from a rural shelter in Kentucky after he and his littermates were surrendered by an owner that became overwhelmed. They are learning quickly and being socialized every day. He loves kids and loves other dogs but has not been exposed to cats. The ideal home for Skipper will preferably have someone home during the day to continue his training or another canine companion. We also prefer that Skipper be in a home with a fenced yard due to his breed mix and his love of being outdoors. He does not like being crated and his house training is in progress. If you would like to meet handsome Skipper, please fill out an online application.

Rena

Rena

Rena is a Beagle mix that came to us from a kill shelter. We were contacted because the shelter was going to have to euthanize due to Rena’s broken leg and the facility did not have the resources to fix it. After hearing what an amazingly sweet disposition she had, we brought her into our rescue. Rena was evaluated by OSU Veterinary Hospital’s orthopedic team and had surgery on November 5. She had a specialty plate and screws placed in her radius bone and is expected to make a full recovery. Rena will be in a cast for 8-10 weeks but has been a complete trooper! She loves everyone that she meets: old, young, dogs, cats…you name it, she loves it! Her name is also special…she was named after Irena Sendler, a woman who saved thousands of children in WWII by hiding them from Nazi soldiers. She was tortured and had her legs broken but still did not talk in order to keep the children safe. Irena had a courageous heart and our little Rena does as well! Because of Rena’s continued care, she will need to be adopted in the Columbus area. Please fill out an online application to meet her. We have also included our GoFundMe link if you would like to contribute to her surgical fund! gofundme.com/jz6p7yhw

Harley

Harley

Harley is a young Yellow Lab mix who began his stay with us last March. He was adopted and adored by a family but it was a chaotic environment with 4 small children and Harley started showing signs of stress and anxiety. They decided it would be in his best interest to surrender him back to us so that he could find a quieter home. He has been in the prison program and done very well since his return. He knows his basic commands, gets along well with other dogs, and has shown great improvement. He is occasionally anxious when there are loud noises, but other than that he is a wonderful dog. We would like to see Harley in a home where he has a canine companion or someone that will be able to spend time with him during the day. He is crate trained and does well on a leash. If you think that Harley would fit into your home, please fill out an online application.
