Murphy

Murphy

Murphy is a wonderful Weimaraner/Lab/Shepherd mix. He was born after his pregnant mom arrived into our rescue and was adopted as a small pup. The family’s young daughter has developed allergies and they are sadly needing to re-home him. Murphy is great with kids and other dogs but will chase cats. He is playful yet tolerant, has an occasional accident if not let out on time, and is a wonderful family companion. All of Murphy’s siblings and his mom have great temperaments and it is through no fault of his own that he is looking for a new forever home. If you would like to meet this stunning boy, please fill out an online application.

Yiyo (formerly Sloan)

ADOPT received an update on Yiyo (formerly Sloan), who was adopted almost 10 years ago!! We hope you enjoy seeing how much he still loves his forever home!! 🙂

It’s been a while since we adopted Yiyo (Sloan) here are a few of the latest pics of our baby boy.

Fern

Fern

Fern is a beautiful Redbone Coonhound (like in the childhood story Where the Red Fern Grows.) When she came to us she was extremely emaciated and appeared to have had a recent litter of puppies, although no one knows what might have happened to them. She’s getting her strength back and putting weight on slowly. Redbones by nature are very good with kids and are typically very even-tempered. They are smart dogs and have keen noses so they can be excellent trackers. If not used for tracking or hunting, their personality also makes them great companion dogs. We will learn more about Fern once she starts feeling a little better and getting some much needed weight on. She has been very sweet and deserves a much better life than what she has known up until now. If you would like to give this lovely girl the home she needs, please fill out an online application.

Jupiter

Little Jupiter and her siblings, Pluto and Venus, were abandoned in a church parking lot before coming to us. We believe that they are Boxer mixes but do not have any parental history. They are all extremely sweet and doing well! Jupiter is a female and is very playful. Please keep in mind before adopting any young puppy that they require time, patience, energy and sacrifice. Yes, they are adorable, but they are also noisy, messy, and chew! They require ongoing training and socialization! We are not trying to discourage you, only asking that you seriously consider whether you are able to devote the time before accepting this lifelong companion into your home! We will accept COLUMBUS VICINITY applications only due to the vaccine boosters and spay/neuter surgery which is performed by our local veterinarians.

Shiloh

Shiloh

Shiloh and her sister, Sheba, came to us as scared, skinny, neglected puppies. They are now doing wonderfully and love the attention they’re receiving! Shiloh is the more reserved of the two girls. Initially when she arrived she would inch along the floor in an army crawl to get close to you. She is now much more confident and loves being near her trusted person. Shiloh is very sweet and is gaining confidence daily. She has a beautiful face and smooth sleek coat. Neither pup had had any training so they are learning lots of new things in the prison program. It will be important that they continue with positive interactions and socialization in their new homes. If you would like to meet Shiloh, please fill out an online application.

CJ

CJ

Captain Jack (CJ) is a playful Australian Shepherd/Hound mix. He is currently in our canine/inmate program learning his basic commands and leash manners. He is very smart and picks up new concepts quickly. CJ displayed food guarding when he arrived but his handler has corrected that. CJ is still working through different behavioral issues (unsure of new people/places and gets fearful) but has made progress with this as well. The ideal person for CJ is someone who is confident and has dog experience. He would not be a good fit for a novice or first time owner. If you would like to meet CJ, please fill out an online application.

Albert looooves other dogs and people as well, walks beautifully on and off leash, and is an all around happy camper. He will be a great companion for just about any situation, so if you’d like to meet Albert, please fill out an online application.
