Cashew

This little nutter is Cashew! He’s an adorable Lab/Hound mix who arrived from a rural kill shelter in Kentucky. He wasn’t feeling so well when he first came to us but he’s much better now! Cash is a typical, affectionate puppy who loves the things that all puppies do: playing, sleeping, playing, peeing, chewing, playing, sleeping and then doing it all over again! We know how wonderful puppies smell and feel, but remember that they grow, and chew, and need exercise, and vet care…so please be sure you can give all of these things for the lifetime of the pup before taking him into your home! Because Cash is so young and still needs his vaccine boosters and neuter surgery (all included in his adoption fee) we will accept Columbus area applicants only! Opal

This is Opal…and she’s amazing! Opal came to us from a kill shelter in W. Virginia and was pretty scraggly. She is looking quite beautiful now but still needs a little more of her hair to fill in towards her back end. Opal is genuinely the sweetest dog…shse loves kids, does fine with other dogs, and is even being fostered with cats. There are some staredowns happening, but thats it! She’s housebroken, crate trained but does not need to be confined during the day, and walks nicely on a harness. We are going to try her on a salmon/rice food diet as we suspect a possible allergy. Fletcher

Fletcher. Is. Awesome. He’s a beautiful Shepherd/Lab mix, possibly with a smaller breed because he’s a nice medium size. Fletcher is laid back, friendly, easy going and an all around great dog. He has beautiful coloring and the most gorgeous amber colored eyes. He’s slightly underweight but we’ll get good nutrition into him and change that! Otto

Otto is kinda like a stretch limousine…he’s long, shiny, fun to look at and can run forever! He’s a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix who arrived in rescue after his owner passed away. He’s a funny, loving little guy. He’s a loyal boy who attaches to his person or people and just loves to be with them. Joey

ADOPT received an update on Joey from his family, on the NINTH anniversary of him joining their family!! We hope you enjoy this wonderful update as much as we did!! 🙂

Time sure does fly!!! Little did we know that our lives would forever be changed the summer of 2007. That summer was when we came to know about ADOPT at the “Taste of Reynoldsburg” ….and met Joey for the first time. August 16th marked nine years of Joey being a deeply loved member of our family. Over the years, he’s been with us thru many softball games, trips to Pittsburgh, dog park visits, graduations and soon weddings. Everyone who meets Joey loves him…. but he forever holds a very special place in our family’s hearts. Thank you ADOPT for the fabulous work you do and all your efforts…. and for bringing our fur baby into our lives!!

Willa

The name Willa has a wonderfully fearless quality…something that we hope this little girl will develop! Right now Willa is a bit timid but warms up quickly. She desperately wants affection and wants to give it right back, it just takes her a little longer to see if she can trust someone. We believe that she is a German Shepherd mix, possibly with Beagle. She is currently being fostered with 4 large dogs and getting along great. She is learning how much fun it is to be a dog by going for walks, playing with toys, and meeting all kinds of new people. Willa will need a home that understands she may not be the life of the party right away, someone who is willing to continue teaching her new things and show her patience and kindness in the process. Skye is an adorable Lab/Dalmatian/? mix! She’s approximately 7 months old and was surrendered after spending most of her young life in a crate. She is friendly, outgoing, bouncy and so happy to be out and about. She loves people and other dogs and is being exposed to new sights and smells. She’s learning her basic commands in the prison program and will be a loving companion. Skye will do best with an individual or family that can give her the continued socialization and exercise that a young dog needs. Please apply online if you’d like to meet her!

Portia

Portia came from a rural kill shelter in Ohio and recently joined our canine/inmate program. We are not sure of her breed mix…possibly Sheltie/Border Collie/?. She is underweight but we will be getting her on a good diet and helping her reach a healthy weight in no time! Portia is sweet and beautiful…once her coat fills in with good nutrition she will be stunning. She is a happy and affectionate girl who has done well with people and with other dogs.
