Coco

ADOPT received a Happy Tails update from Coco’s new family!  She is doing great and LOVES to play – her dad says that she would play all day every day if she could, it’s basically either play or sleep!  We’re so happy to see she’s doing so well in her furever home! 🙂

Mars

Mars

Breed: Mixed. Mars’ DNA test shows that he is 21% Labrador Retriever, 28% American Pit Bull Terrier, 15% American Staffordshire Terrier, 9% English Springer Spaniel, 6% Golden Retriever, 6% Chow Chow, 6% German Shepherd, 2% Siberian Husky, 2% Boxer, 2% Bulldog, 1% American Bulldog, 1% Alaskan Malamute, 1% Chihuahua
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birth Date: 8/2021
Size: 70 pounds
Good With Kids: Unknown, so children over 10 years.
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Mars loves being around people and making new friends of the human and canine variety.  He loves being outside and would love to have his own yard to hang out in!  He loves being with his people and doesn’t like being left alone for long periods of time.

Additional Information: Mars is a very friendly, wiggly dog. We had a hard time getting him to sit still for photos! He is a very smart boy and is doing very well on his Sit, Stay, Down, Leave It and Come commands. Consistency and continued training will be necessary. He doesn’t really know how big he is but feels he can fit in anyone’s lap. We don’t think Mars ever had a loving home and family. Time, patience, and training will be necessary. Mars is going to be a great addition to the right family.

Cooper

Cooper

Breed (best guess): Hound Mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Date of Birth: 5/15/2021
Size: 49 pounds
Good With Kids: Unknown
Good With Cats: Unknown, but hasn’t been reactive when he sees them on walks
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Cooper would LOVE a home with a fenced in yard (one tall enough that he can’t jump). He will benefit from an active family that likes to walk, hike, visit dog parks, and go on adventures; he still has a bit of puppy energy. He would love to have a canine companion to teach him how to be a dog. He does have some separation anxiety, so it would be best if he wasn’t left for long periods of time. Hopefully this will subside once he learns that he has a permanent home with a loving family!

Additional Information: Cooper is just learning how to walk on a leash. Continued education at obedience classes would be wonderful! He loves to meet new people but is still a little fearful of men. Once he warms up to a new male, he warms up and shows what a loving dog he is.

Barkley

Barkley

Breed (best guess): Hound Mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birth Date: 3/17/2019
Size: 43 pounds
Good With Kids: Yes
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Barkley bonds quickly with females and feels the need to protect them. He had a bad experience with a male in his life so he requires calm introductions and slow movements. He warms up to males but will require patience. He does enjoy going on runs so having a runner in the family would be great. He likes being outside in a fenced in yard, but has easily jumped the low fence at his foster home. A secure yard with at least a standard height fence should be ok.

Additional Information: Barkley is very sweet and quiet. In the house he lays on the floor near his person; he just wants to be close by. He is quite the cuddler! He is great on a leash and doesn’t pull. He is doing well with learning new commands and is very consistent with sit, stay, down, leave it and come.

Ralphie

Ralphie

Breed (best guess): Pug/Boston Terrier Mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Age: Approximately 1 year
Size: 20 pounds
Good With Kids: Yes but children over 8 might be best
Good With Cats: Yes
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Almost
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Ralphie would love a home with a fenced in yard and another well trained dog. He looks to his foster sister for guidance, attention, and affection. He would prefer that his family not leave him for long periods of time. He does need to be crated when left alone.

Additional Information: Ralphie loves humans and can’t wait to get on your lap and cover you with kisses. He is a big ham and assumes cute poses so you’ll pay attention to him. He’s a warm cuddle bug at night; don’t be surprised if he wants to share your pillow. Ralphie had some anxiety when we first got him, thus the thunder shirt. He no longer needs it!

Check out a video of Ralphie here!

Rudy

Rudy

Breed (best guess): Hound Mix
Sex: Male, neutered
Estimated Birthdate: 1/15/2022
Size: Currently 34 pounds (we estimate he will be around 50 pounds full grown)
Good With Kids: Unknown but we feel children over 6 years old should be fine
Good With Cats: Unknown
Good With Dogs: Yes
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes

Recommended Environment: Rudy will benefit from a home where his family will continue his training, using only positive reinforcement. He is very treat-motivated, which helps. He can be a bit bull-headed at times! Rudy needs to have a canine companion in the home with him. He is pretty attached to his brother Tigger if you are looking to adopt a bonded pair!

Additional Information: Rudy comes across as the most serious puppy. He watches everything, just taking it all in. He loves attention and taking naps next to his people. Rudy and his siblings Tigger and Rosie were not exposed to much in their previous lives. They are a little timid when meeting new people and going to new places; though they adjust quickly.
