River

River

It’s hard to put into words how we feel about River, because he’s a special boy. He was abandoned outside of our vet’s office with his bowls, a pillow and a blanket. The staff found him in the morning after sitting in the rain, still waiting, where he had been left. We named him River because he is resilient, beautiful, and goes with the flow. River had a large tumor on his lower jaw/neck and flea bites all over his back end. We had the tumor removed (benign, not cancerous!) and treated him with antibiotics to clear his skin. He gets along with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats, is good with kids and doesn’t need to be crated. He’s also housetrained. He would do best in a home with land or the ability to spend time outdoors, which he loves.

Frances

Frances

Frances and her sister Bridget arrived from a kill shelter in Kentucky. Both girls are comical, wiggly, typical goofy puppies. They were a little timid at first, which is understandable, but warmed up immediately. They are Beagle mixes with unique and adorable short tails! These pups are still young and at a crucial time for continued training and socialization. They are currently part of our canine-inmate program where they are being exposed to basic commands, crate training, housebreaking, and dog to dog interactions. We always like to remind potential adopters that puppies are cute and fun…but they are also like tiny tornadoes! Please remember that this is a lifelong commitment and they are need guidance and patience! If you would like to meet Frances, please fill out an online application.

Spice

Spice

This Spice-girl is by far the best looking and the most talented! She was adopted as a pup and surrendered recently due to a change in her family’s living environment and they were unable to bring her along. She was slated for euthanasia at a kill shelter because she’s a little older and has some benign fatty lumps on her body. Spice has a lot of long healthy years ahead and plenty of new music to make with another lucky person or family. Spice knows several basic commands, does not need to be crated while alone, is house trained and has a chill yet upbeat demeanor. She’s great on a leash and is a loving girl. Senior dogs and black dogs are often overlooked which is a real shame because they are done with all of the crazy puppy years and they are gorgeous as well! Spice really loves her snacks but will need to be making better food choices…more carrot slices, peas, and apple chunks instead of hot dogs! She is a big girl at 70 lbs but we would like to see her closer to 55-60. This lovely lady has so much to offer…if you would like to meet Spice, please fill out an online application.

Dale

Dale

Dale is a bundle of affection and energy. He is a German Shorthair mix that was surrendered by his owner due to no fault of his own. He has joined our canine-inmate program to learn his basic commands. He is smart and good with children and other dogs. He will do best in a home where he gets plenty of affection, exercise, and mental stimulation.

Estimated Birth Date: 5/8/2015
Weight: 37 pounds
Good with kids: Yes. Due to his energy level, not recommended with really young children.

Oreo

Oreo

Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier/Mix
Sex: Female spayed
Age: Adult
Est. birthdate: March 2015
Size: Medium-Large, 50 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housetrained: yes
General information: Oreo is one of our longer term residents, and we genuinely can’t figure out why. She’s a Pit Bull mix and sadly they get a bad rap. Oreo has encountered many dogs outside of her foster home but can be selective about her canine friends. We think she would be happiest as the only dog in a home. She has been participating in agility classes for fun, goes to many of our adoption events and is the best greeter ever, is calm indoors but also loves to play. She’s an all around great girl who is affectionate and very in tune with her person. Oreo will be a fabulous companion, she’d just prefer to be your one and only!

Lil Jack

Lil Jack

Lil Jack is most likely a Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier mix. He’s the perfect blend of both…smart, sassy, energetic and full of personality! Lil Jack came to us from a kill shelter in rural Kentucky and is now part of our canine-inmate program. If Jack could go to school, we’re pretty sure he’d be on the Dean’s List and would also be a star athlete. He’s a very smart boy and he loves, and we mean he LOVES, to play ball. He likes to be the center of attention and will entertain the room if given the opportunity. The Jack Russell breed is known for it’s intelligence, tenacity, and stubbornness so we love it when potential new adopters read up about the breed combinations of the pups they’re interested in. If you think you’d like to meet Lil Jack in person and possibly get an autograph, please fill out an online application.

Mojo

Mojo

Mojo is a pretty cool little guy. He’s also quite handsome which makes him the complete package. He’s still a youngster so he can learn all sorts of new things (although, old dogs CAN learn new tricks…just takes a little longer!) He’s entered into our canine-inmate program so he’s going to be working on basic commands, leash manners, and housetraining. But remember, he won’t know everything and he needs his new family to understand that patience, ongoing training, and lots of positive reinforcement will still be needed. You probably already know that, but we like to say it just to be sure! Mojo loves visitors so if you’d like to meet him, please fill out an online application!

Jaeger

Jaeger

So, Jaeger is an interesting looking guy. Some say he looks like Toto only bigger, some think he looks like a hyena, or a Dingo…we think he’s a special kind of cute and definitely one of a kind. He’s a Cairn Terrier mix, but with what we’re not sure. What we are sure about is that he’s a really cool looking, friendly little dog. He won’t shed much, his coat is wiry but not super coarse. He has a little tuft of white fur on top of his head which is the cutest thing. He’s a funny little character and genuinely loves to be near people. He also likes cruising around outside and smelling all the things! Jaeger is a joy to be with and will make someone a wonderful little buddy. If you’d like to meet him, please fill out an online application.

Mama

Mama

This sweet girl and her 4 kittens were abandoned and brought into foster care where they are now thriving. The kittens are about to go to new homes but Mama is still looking for her forever family. She is the sweetest, most affectionate cat we’ve ever met. She loves everyone she meets. Mama can be timid around loud noises so a quiet home would be the best fit for her. We are only accepting applications in the Columbus area. If you would like to win the jackpot and take home this wonderful cat, please complete an adoption application.

Estimated Birth Date: May 2016
Weight: 7.5 pounds (she is a tiny thing!)
Up to date on routine vaccinations
Will be spayed prior to adoption

Della

Della

Della is not going to be pleased when she sees her portfolio pictures…she’s soooo much more beautiful in person! In addition to all that beauty, Della has brains to match. She is a Belgian Malinois mix which is not a breed for the faint of heart! Della is active and needs to be kept fit both physically and mentally. If you need to practice your pitching skills, or hit a tennis ball and would rather not run to get it…she’s your girl. Like to take walks, or better yet run…she’s your partner. We would prefer that the next person or people in Della’s life have Malinois experience or experience with a high energy, highly intelligent breed. If you’d like to meet this super model, please fill out an online application and her agent will get back to you as quickly as possible.
