Archie is just a sweetheart. He’s well behaved and generally calm for such a young dog. We believe that he is a Boxer mix with a beautiful brindle coat. He came from a rural shelter in Kentucky and probably didn’t have much interaction with a lot of people, so he can be a bit shy around groups of people or when meeting someone new. He’s very friendly and loves attention once he knows that you want to be his friend. He loves other dogs and would do best with a canine companion in his new house. He’s become a fan of toys, balls and chew toys…so he’s hoping his new people wouldn’t mind setting up a little basket of things for him to play with! Archie is being exposed to basic commands, social interactions, and house training while he’s in the program. He will need to continue all of these things once he finds his new family. This is all very new to him and he’s just trying to take it all in! If you give him a chance we’re sure you’ll be happy that you did. To meet Archie, please fill out an online application.

Benny is what you’d call a good old fashioned Heinz 57. We’re not positive about his breed mix, but we’re thinking that there is Aussie in there somewhere. He’s still a youngster and just trying to figure out this crazy world he’s in! Most rescues come into the program and get a little overwhelmed at first…which he did…but he’s very loving and trusting. He will follow you and be your shadow and is quick to learn new things. He has discovered that playing with toys is awesome, bones are fun to chew on, and crates are a little like getting into a cold pool…not great at first but then you get used to it. He’s working on learning leash manners and basic commands while in the canine-inmate program. Benny will do well in a household that can give him the time and attention that he craves. If you’d like to meet Benny, please fill out an online application.

This is Biggie…Mr. Bigstuff, the Bigster, Biggie McBiggerton…whatever you want to call him, he’s just a big ole meatball. He was brought into our rescue because he was out of time at the shelter and we just couldn’t leave that face behind. He’s good with kids, doesn’t seem to care much about other dogs. Typically the American Bulldog is emotional and bonds deeply with it’s family so it’s important that Biggie has people that spend time with him and give him the mental and physical activity that he needs. He’s working on learning his basic commands, crate training, and has not had any “potty” accidents in his foster home. If you would like to meet this smooshy lug, please fill out an online application.

As a member of the “Plain Brown Dog Squad,” Red would like you to know that there’s more to him than meets the eye. He might now have flashy colors or markings, but he is handsome in his own right. When he first arrived he was bashful, but he is now confident and outgoing. He loves to play ball, loves other dogs, and loves attention. He’s a happy dude that would do best in a home with another canine companion who loves having a friend as much as he does. Please fill out an online application to meet Red, he would love a chance to show someone his true colors!

Handsome right? We think so too. Jefferson is a southern boy that came to us from a rural Kentucky shelter. We’d like to have more pictures to show you, but he’s a busy guy and would prefer to play, chase balls, and be a typical young Lab instead of sitting still for glamour shots. Jefferson is a part of our canine-inmate program where he’s learning basic obedience and leash manners. He’s young, strong, and an all around goofball. We’re not sure if he’s a mix or all Labrador Retriever, but his personality definitely is that of a Lab. Do your research…these dogs are fantastic and loyal family companions…but they are also smart, crafty, and energetic! Jefferson will do wonderfully in an active household where he can get routine exercise. If you’d like to meet this gorgeous boy, please fill out an online application.

This little guy arrived with his siblings and is currently in foster care. Wilson is the outgoing, bossy one of the bunch! His foster mom says he is smart and doing well with housetraining and crate training. Wilson lives with another male dog and cats and is getting along with all. He really likes his food and doesn’t want to share, so his new adopter will need to be committed to doing research and using positive training techniques to help him overcome his food guarding. Because Wilson is still young and will require vaccines and his neuter surgery by one of our local veterinarians, he can ONLY be adopted in Columbus and immediate surrounding vicinity. As with all youngsters, Wilson will need continued socialization, education, patience and routine well care. If you are ready to bring this handsome guy home, please fill out an online application.

This little guy arrived with his siblings and are currently in foster care. Edward’s foster mom says he is super smart and has already started alerting her when he needs to go potty outside! He is quite the character, super sweet, loves to cuddle, and LOVES the grass and romping around outside. He is doing well with his crate training, is pretty chill for a puppy, and is definitely a lover. Because Edward is still young and will require vaccines and his neuter surgery by one of our local veterinarians, he can ONLY be adopted in Columbus and immediate surrounding vicinity. Bridget and her sister Frances arrived from a kill shelter in Kentucky. Both girls are comical, wiggly, typical goofy puppies. They were a little timid at first, which is understandable, but warmed up immediately. They are Beagle mixes with unique and adorable short tails! These pups are still young and at a crucial time for continued training and socialization. They are currently part of our canine-inmate program where they are being exposed to basic commands, crate training, housebreaking, and dog to dog interactions. We always like to remind potential adopters that puppies are cute and fun…but they are also like tiny tornadoes! Please remember that this is a lifelong commitment and they are need guidance and patience! If you would like to meet Bridget, please fill out an online application.
