Felix

Felix

The name Felix means “happy, lucky” which suits this handsome boy perfectly. He could actually be described as happy-go-lucky! He’s a silly, goofy, funny ball of fluff who is very affectionate. He’ll sprawl out on the floor in the funniest poses and just lay there. Felix loves his toys and loves loves loves other dogs. Big, small, round, thin…he doesn’t care. He wants to be friends with ALL of the other dogs. Felix is very intelligent and knows his basic commands. He’s comfortable in his crate and housebroken. He’s pretty much the complete package! Kiya

ADOPT received an update on Kiya from her forever family! Kiya was adopted from us TEN years ago – we loved seeing how she’s doing today! 🙂

We are celebrating our baby girl, Kiya’s 10th birthday this month. She has been the best girl and family member. A little grayer, but still silly and sweet. Thank you!!!

Kiya, when she was adopted in 2007!

Bandit

Bandit

The only thing this Bandit will steal is your heart. This big ole black Lab was set for euthanasia at a local shelter after having been someone’s companion and surrendered through no fault of his own. He arrived with some skin issues from being outdoors and an ear infection, both of which are being cleared up with medication. With proper nutrition his coat will regain that beautiful black coat shine. Bandit has a lot of affection to give and likes to lean on you for head scratches. If you’re looking for a solid companion, one who’s past all the young pup days of being wild and needing all the things that puppies do…this just might be your boy. He likes other dogs, he likes people, he likes walks (although he’s got some spunk and goes full steam ahead on the leash!) but mostly he likes that he gets a second chance. We like that too. If you want to meet Bandit, please fill out an online application.

Tawny

Tawny

Tawny is a beautiful Beagle mix with a soft white and cream colored coat. She has “Maybelline” eyes with a soulful expression. She’s a nice size at about 46 lbs and loves to be outdoors to explore. A trait shared by many Beagles and Beagle mixes is their desire for companionship. They are “pack animals” and like to have other canines or humans to keep them company. They require routine exercise to keep their minds stimulated and prevent boredom. They are very hearty, energetic yet also snugglers when it’s time to relax inside. Paxton

Paxton

Paxton…oh Paxton. This good looking lad is probably going to end up on one of those viral dog shaming posts. He may have his head stuck in a garbage pail, he may steal your breakfast, it’s really anyone’s guess. He’s enthusiastic and never boring! Paxton prefers to be a free-range kind of guy versus a stuck-in-a-crate fellow. He would not do well as an apartment dog and needs a partner to do martial arts, circus tricks, or just basic exercise would be ok too. Paxton is actually a smart boy and now part of our canine-inmate program. While he’s in the program he’ll be learning basic obedience and how not to end up on America’s Funniest Videos. If you are looking for a companion to bring a smile to your face, this is your guy. Please fill out an online application to meet Paxton.

Elvis

Elvis

He ain’t nothing but a hound dog…or Border Collie/Basset mix…we’re not really sure what Elvis’ DNA would reveal but we know that he’s a hunk of love. He arrived from a kill shelter and has become a part of our canine-inmate program where he’s learning basic commands and making new friends. Elvis will drop down for a belly rub every chance that he gets. Af first he’s a little shy, but that goes away quickly and he is eager to get affection. Elvis has done well with other dogs and will make a great little companion. If you’d like to make sure he never ends up on Lonely Street again, please fill out an online application to meet Elvis.

Hannah (formerly Bridget)

ADOPT received an update on Hannah (formerly Bridget) from her new mom! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂

Hannah has settled in quite nicely!  She’s been a very good girl house-breaking wise.  We have a couple training things to work on, (like no jumping on people) but we’ll make it fun.  She’s a very busy girl who enjoys the fenced yard and is quite a snuggler at night.

Please know that she is very loved and destined to be spoiled! ♡♡♡

Etta

Etta

Little miss Etta is an adorable little hybrid. We think she’s most likely a English Coonhound (also called a Redtick Coonhound) mix. This breed typically makes a great house pet and they develop deep bonds with their people. She is still just a puppy so proper socialization and training is highly recommended. She will do well in a home that allows her to snuggle with the family, nest in a favorite spot, and gives her the opportunity to use her nose to explore the outdoors. If you would like to meet Etta, please fill out an online application.

Joey

Joey

Let’s go ahead and just address it: Those Ears!! Joey is most likely an Australian Kelpie mix and has the trademark spectacular ears perched on top of his head. He is smart (so smart), energetic (so energetic!) and loves everyone he meets. Joey has a genuine zest for life and is enthusiastic about, well, everything! He loves toys, playing with other dogs, and people. This is the type of breed mix that we like for people to do their homework on before adopting…they are not couch potatoes and need regular mental and physical exercise. It doesn’t have to be strenuous, just consistent. He is highly intelligent and learns very quickly. Joey is still young and ongoing socialization with training is key to keeping him happy and well balanced. If you’d like to meet this ruggedly good looking matie, please fill out an online application.

Bella (formerly Della)

ADOPT received an update on Bella (formerly Della) from her new family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂

Things are going great. She has brought so much joy to me. We walk every morning and evening…. She is eating well and has gained about 2 ½ pounds.

My vet was impressed with how well adjusted she seems in 3 weeks. He would like me to take her for training once we have fully adjusted to each other. I hope to look into therapy dog training so we could visit the hospital or nursing homes.

She loves being outside in the fenced in yard and chases the bunnies and squirrels…she is getting better about not chasing the birds from the feeders. She loves having our friends come over because she is the belle of the ball. …She sleeps with us and has full run of the house at night with no mishaps…she is a really good girl.

I want to thank you for everything you did to help me through the process and keeping my application on file. Please know she is spoiled and loved.

She loves her BarkBox!

Bella, when first rescued and now.
