Chad

Chad

Sometimes we don’t need to use a lot of words to describe a dog…take Chad for example…just look at him. He’s ridiculously cute. Ridiculously. He arrived with 2 littermates and our best calculation is that they are about 10 weeks old and Hound mixes. Based on age and current weight, we are estimating that they’ll be 60+ pounds as adults (this is an estimate!) Chad is currently in foster care and is described as being a pretty chill little guy. He’s a typical pup and likes to play but isn’t a complete wildman. He is a snuggler, gets along with his canine foster siblings, and is working on crate training and housebreaking. So far so good, he’s had only a couple of accidents! Even though Chad is cute enough to make you drool, remember that puppies are work. They need continued training, socialization, and vet visits to keep them healthy and balanced. Because Chad still needs his boosters and his neuter surgery with our local vet, we will be accepting applications from Columbus, OH or the immediate vicinity only!!
Estimated birthdate: August 2017

Dakota

Dakota

If a tiara would stay on top of Dakota’s perfect little head, we would certainly put one on her! She is the only little girl pup in the litter of 3 that came to us from rural Kentucky. She is quite the beauty queen and loves attention! We can’t be certain of her heritage but she is most likely a hound breed mix. She has unique markings with a dark stripe running down her back and tail (always has to outdo the other girls at the pageant!) Dakota loves to be held and snuggled, loves playing with her foster sister, is good with children, and is working on crate training and potty training. She loves snacks and is very motivated to get all the right moves down for a treat! Because Dakota still needs her booster shots and her spay surgery by one of our local veterinarians, we will only be able to accept Columbus and immediate vicinity applications. If you would like to meet this lovely girl, please fill out an online application.

Johnny Wags

Johnny Wags

When you have a dog that wants to be close to you and wags his whole body it’s really, reeaalllyyy hard to get good pictures. Lots of close up nostril shots, or blurry face shots…you get the jist. So even though Johnny is a handsome fella, the pics are not the best! His body has seen better days…he came to us painfully thin and had some healing cuts and scars on his face. He has the start of a graying chin which just adds to the wisdom behind his eyes. Even though he had been severely neglected, his disposition remains sunny and upbeat. He’s affectionately called Johnny Wags because of his constantly thumping tail. He’s genuinely a lover and enjoys being with people. Johnny has entered the canine-inmate program where he’s learning all sorts of new things…including what it feels like to get regular meals, baths, and having a warm place to sleep. He is happy to explore the outside world and then just plop down next to his person. He’ll be a great (and grateful) companion for many years to come. If you’d like to meet Johnny Wags, please fill out an online application.

Jake

Jake

Jake is a great little guy that came in with his brother from a rural kill shelter. He’s a confident, playful, smart pup who LOVES his toys, especially balls. His foster mom says that he’s pretty chill for a puppy and loves his canine foster siblings. The cats aren’t his biggest fans, but well, they’re cats. He’s been respectful and doesn’t chase them though, so maybe they should just cut him some slack! He’s doing great with housetraining and crate training and can hold it through the night (yay!) We like to remind people that even though puppies have the best puppy smell, and they’re hilarious to watch…they require time and energy. They need continued training, patience, vet visits…plus you may have a shoe or 5 sacrificed to the footwear gods. So if you’re ready for a lifetime adventure, please fill out an online application. Because Jake is young and still needs booster shots and his neuter from our local vet, we will only be accepting applications from Columbus, OH and it’s immediate vicinity.

Lola

Lola

We would love for someone to look into her eyes and fall for Lola, Lo-La, Lola. This sweet girl loves attention and will bond closely with her person. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs and cats. She loves the cats and will snuggle with them and try to groom them! She enjoys the other dogs but sometimes would prefer that she was the only one that got the attention. She knows several commands and is also housebroken. She is crate trained but will initially vocalize her disapproval of not being out and about! She settles right down, it’s just important that she gets to voice her opinion! Lola has done well with kids and has been to events where she was friendly with everyone. She is happy, healthy and ready for her forever home. That’s the way that we want it to stay, and always want it to be that way for Lola, Lo-la, Lola.

Oakley

Oakley

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Male neutered
Age: Young adult (1-3 yrs)
Size: Medium (25-50 lbs)
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housetrained: yes
Recommended environment: Oakley is full of energy, ready to chase a ball and play play play! He will need to be adequately exercised and given an opportunity to be outdoors (whether its on walks, chasing a ball, or being given a place to follow a scent or trail.) He is crate trained and knows his basic commands. An apartment or condominium would not be a good fit for Oakley.

Cassia

Cassia

Sometimes pictures don’t do a dog true justice, and this is one of those cases. Cassia is a deep, rich cinnamon color with the most soulful amber brown eyes. Her ears are long and velvety and she is genuinely one of the sweetest dogs. She is most likely a Redbone Coonhound mix, and if you do your research, you will find that the breed is very affectionate, loves being with its family, and has a strong desire to please. Cass is intelligent, gentle and genuinely loves to be close to her person. She likes the company of other dogs but would also do well being an only dog. She has not been cat tested. As with all dogs, she will need daily walks and the opportunity to use her nose to explore her surroundings. She will undoubtedly be a wonderful companion. If you’d like to meet Cassia, please fill out an online application.

Tucker

Tucker

Tucker looks like something straight out of a Disney movie…and he’s fabulous enough to be in one! Tucker loves life, loves everything around him, and truly greets the day as if he’s happy to be alive. He has a beautiful honey colored coat with white feet, a white tipped tail and the most adorable “beard.” Tucker is good in his kennel, loves to be outdoors and explore, is fine around kids, and is a great medium size. He is energetic but not overly so. As an added bonus, he has a built in “off switch”! All you have to do is rub his ears and he practically melts. Tucker will make a wonderful family companion. The ideal home will provide him with outdoor walks and exploration time, indoor time that he gets to curl up next to his people, and of course, ear rubs. If you’d like to meet this all around great boy, please fill out an online application.

Candy

Candy

If you haven’t already gotten your Halloween candy…we happen to have the best kind right here! This pint sized Beagle girl is as sweet as her namesake. She came to us after being found along the roadside eating trash. It’s always amazing to see how resilient and loving these animals are after sometimes having had sad experiences out in the world. Candy is very affectionate and would love nothing more than to help greet trick-or-treaters from the doorway of her very own home. If you would like to meet Candy, please fill out an online application.
