Toby

Toby

Breed: Shepherd mix
Sex: Male
Age: Puppy (less than 1 year)
Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) estimate when full grown
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housetrained: in progress
Recommended environment: Toby is playful, smart, learns quickly and loves to be close to people. We believe he will be a medium sized dog full grown, but this is an estimation. Because Toby is young, it is important that he continues to have someone willing to continue socializing, preferably attend training classes, and provide daily exercise.
*temporary in home foster*
Additional info: Toby will be entering our Canine-Inmate program after his neuter surgery. Because Toby is young and needs routine follow up with our local veterinarian, we are only able to accept Columbus/immediate vicinity applications.

Nova

Nova

Breed: Blue Heeler mix
Sex: Female spayed
Age: Young adult (1-3 yrs)
Size: Medium (25-50 lbs)
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housetrained: yes
Recommended environment: Nova is very bright and will do well with positive leadership and provide mental as well as physical stimulation. She is loyal, affectionate, and likes to stay close to her person or people. Due to her desire to be near those that she bonds with, we would prefer that she is not left alone for long periods of time. She seems to be drawn to children and wants to play with them. Kids over 5 would be best simply because she is energetic and is a herding breed.

Lily

Lily

We’re not exactly sure of little Lily’s breed combo, but we know it’s adorable. Possibly a hint of Border Collie, or terrier, but it would certainly be fun to do a DNA test on this cutie! She’s new to the program and is enjoying having a warm bed and regular meals in her foster home. She came to us from a rural Kentucky kill shelter so she’s learning about new sights, sounds, and smells. As with all puppies, it is critical to continue with structured training, exercise, and socialization. We know how cute they are and how much fun they can be, but we like to remind people that they are also a big responsibility! If you’re ready for a new companion and a lifetime of adventure, please fill out an online application to meet Lily.
Estimated birthdate: Nov/Dec 2017

Veronica

Veronica

Veronica came back to our rescue after having been adopted for a brief time. The family’s resident senior dog wasn’t interested in having a new puppy playmate and the family thought it best to give her a chance to find a better fit. Ronni is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs and all 3 get along beautifully. She is a young Boxer mix with typical puppy energy. She loves to play with toys, loves to play with other dogs, is good in her crate and lets you know when she has to go outside. She has a great disposition and seems to like everyone she meets! As with any new puppy or dog, ongoing socialization and training is highly recommended. If you’d like to meet Ronni, please fill out an online application.
Estimated birthdate: October 2017
Weight: possibly 55+ when full grown
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes (sometimes pees a little when excited)

Maisy

Maisy

Maisy’s pictures don’t do her justice! It was pretty chilly when she arrived so we didn’t want to keep her outside for glamour shots! She’s great with people and dogs but has not been cat tested. We’re not sure about her breed mix, but she has a lot of Corgi characteristics mixed possibly with a herding breed…but that’s just a guess. What we do know is that she’s a really great girl who will be a wonderful addition to a forever home. Maisy is part of our canine-inmate program where she’s learning basic commands and getting continued socialization. If you’d like to meet this sweet girl, please fill out an online application.
Estimated birthdate: June 2016
Weight: 30 lbs

Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes

Koko

Koko

Breed: Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix
Sex: Female spayed
Age: Young adult (1-3 yrs)
Size: Large (60-100 lbs)
Good with kids: 10+
Good with cats: unknown
Housetrained: yes
Recommended Environment: Koko is fairly calm and doesn’t need to be constantly entertained. She’s content on her own or just watching over things. Koko is not “reactive” when she sees other dogs but she has a personal space bubble that she doesn’t appreciate other dogs invading. We feel she would be happiest as an only dog in the household. She is great on a leash and rides well in a car.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon

2018 has arrived and Cinnamon’s New Year’s resolution is to find her very own forever family. She was part of another rescue that has closed down and we offered to take her in. She’s spent most of her short life in the prison program and would love to have a home with a yard, some toys, and a squishy bed to curl up on. She’s a typical goofy, playful, Lab mix puppy. She’s very sweet, a bit shy at first but warms up very quickly. She seems to do well with kids, loves other dogs, but has not been cat tested. If you’d like to “spice” up your life, fill out an online application to come and meet Cinnamon!
