Amber

Amber

Breed: Collie mix
Sex: Female Spayed
Age: Young adult (1-3 years)
Size: Medium (30-50 lbs)
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: was curious but not aggressive when tested
Housetrained: yes
Recommended environment: Amber is in a foster home where she is thriving! She loves playing with her canine foster brother, is a complete snuggle bug and loves affection. She was somewhat timid upon arrival but with consistency and positive experiences she’s become much more comfortable and relaxed. She rides well in the car, will whine when she needs to go out to potty, and is good on a leash. Because she genuinely loves people and attention, we would like Amber to be in a home where she has someone to bond with and isn’t left alone for lengthy periods every day. She is an “easy keeper” and a wonderful companion.

Maggie

Maggie

Breed: Shepherd mix
Sex: Female spayed
Age: Young adult (1-3 yrs)
Size: Medium (30-50 lbs)
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
Recommended environment: Maggie is super smart and learns things very quickly. We are not sure of her breed mix but she looks like a “pocket” German Shepherd and is only about 40 lbs. She will need daily exercise and socialization in order to stay happy and healthy. She gets along with other dogs and loves to play. Maggie would do well in an active household where she would not be left crated for long periods of time.
*Part of the Canine-Inmate Program*
Additional information: Maggie had surgery on 10/19 to remove a piece of blanket that she had eaten. She has recovered beautifully and has no issues from her operation.

Luna (formerly Dew Drop)

Luna (formerly Dew Drop) loves her new family and her new canine sister Pepper (an ADOPT alum!).  As you can see, she’s settled in pretty nicely!! 🙂

Dew Drop

Breed: Pointer mix
Sex: Female
Age: Puppy (less than a year)
Size: Medium (25-45 lbs full grown. Estimate only.)
Good with kids: young enough to socialize
Good with cats: young enough to socialize
Housetrained: in progress
Recommended environment: As with all young puppies, we prefer that Dewie is in a home where she is not left alone for long periods of time. Because Dewie appeared to have been neglected, it is important that she gets continued socialization and positive reinforcement. She is affectionate and very sweet. Dewie is in a foster home with other dogs and does well.
*in a home foster*
Additional information: Estimated birthdate is mid April 2018. Because this puppy will still need her spay surgery and booster vaccines done by our local veterinarian, we are ONLY able to accept Columbus/immediate vicinity applicants. We appreciate your understanding.

Mitzi

Mitzi

Breed: Beagle mix
Sex: Female spayed
Age: Young adult (1-3 years)
Size: Medium (25-40 lbs)
Good with kids: tested with 6+ yrs and loved them
Good with cats: exposed and was interested but did not chase or bark at
Housebroken: yes
Recommended environment: Mitzi is very sweet and gives “hugs.” She loves people and is good with other dogs. She is playful but not hyper and would do well in a variety of households. She met kids older than 6 yrs and did wonderfully. Best educated guess is that she’s about 18 months old so she will still need daily exercise and socialization. Mitzi will be a really great companion to a single individual or family.

Wiley

Wiley

Breed: Shepherd mix
Sex: Male neutered
Age: Young adult (1-3 years)
Size: Large (55-70 lbs)
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: unknown
Recommended environment: Wiley loves people and would do well in an environment where he has plenty of socialization. Because he’s a tall, larger dog we would prefer a home that has kids 5+. He does well on a leash and will need daily exercise and interaction to remain the happy guy that he is.
*Canine-Inmate Program*
Additional information: Wiley came with an extremely infected toe on his front paw and it was decided that amputating the toe was the best course of action. He has had no issues, and walks/runs without any problem.

Huey

ADOPT recently received an update on Huey from his new family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! 🙂

I would like to thank you for putting Huey through your program. I couldn’t be more happy! It has been a fun couple days already getting to know him! I am a very active person and will be taking him hiking and kayaking frequently.

Huey has been so perfect! He is a happy pup and is already at my side. He sleeps with me and comes out to do barn chores with me. He has already met my cat and dog, along with my parents 3 dogs, and my friends 2 dogs. He is definitely an at-my-side kind of dog.

My parents have 25 acres with woods and a small river where he is allowed to run and play. I’ve already taken him to a larger river and he liked the water there so I can’t wait to take him kayaking – he already has a life vest.

Please tell his handler that I thank him so kindly and he did a wonderful job with this amazing dog!!!
