Bella

Bella

Breed: German Shepherd mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: Medium, 38 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: no, will chase
Housebroken: has accidents indoors if not let out
General information: Bella is a smart, affectionate, active Shepherd mix who was surrendered to us after the owner realized that they did not have adequate time to care for her. She lived with a young child and is good with kids and other dogs but will chase cats. Her handler tells us that she goes to the door if she needs to go outside to “potty”, but if he doesn’t respond right away then she will have an accident. Bella is a beautiful girl who needs someone who can keep her mind and body active as well as understanding she is still a work in progress!

Hooper

Hooper

Breed: Mixed
Sex: Male neutered
Estimated birthdate: January 2017
Size: M/L, 55 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: yes
Housebroken: yes
General information: This handsome “tri-pawd” has no idea that he is any different than his 4 legged pals. He’s a happy little chunk of love that adores people, likes other dogs and is in a foster home with 5 cats that he completely ignores. All we know about Hopper’s history is that he was left behind when his family moved and was taken care of by the neighbor. He came into our rescue so that he could find his true forever home. He is genuinely the friendliest boy, loves to be outside to explore all the smells, and most of all loves to give and get affection. He isn’t bothered or slowed down by having 3 legs…he jumps into the car, goes for walks, can do stairs, and enjoys every day. Hopper is an inspiration to everyone he meets and whoever chooses him will have the best companion.

Harley

ADOPT received an update on Harley from her new family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 🙂

Meeting Harley went so well! Rosie was a little standoffish at the prison with everything else that was going on but we had a feeling once we could get her in her own environment they would do great together, and we were right!! They play SO well together and we think Harley is the perfect fit to our family. Thank you so much for all of your help!

Louie

ADOPT received a three-month adoption update on Louie from his new family! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did! 🙂

Three-month milestone with wonderful Louie – and he’s blossoming: affectionate, responsive, well-behaved, and most of all —- HAPPY! He’s filling out and starting to mature . . . little big man!

Cona

Cona

Breed: Great Dane/Catahoula Leopard Dog/Mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: 3/24/2019
Size: XL, approx 85+ full grown
Good with kids: unknown
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: with consistency
General information: Cona has the sweetest disposition. She’s very gentle, likes to play but isn’t wild, and is submissive. She likes to be near her person and will lean against you just to be as close as possible. She came in with her littermate, Trudie, and both girls were grossly underweight and had skin infections from flea dermatitis. They are now getting proper nutrition and have been treated for their skin. Our guess is that Cona would be great with kids but children 5+ would be best simply due to her size (we wouldn’t want anyone getting knocked over accidentally!) She has such a kind soul and will be an extremely loyal companion. Because she’s still a puppy, she will need to have ongoing, positive socialization as well as reinforcement of her training. We aren’t sure of her breed mix…some see Irish Wolfhound, some see Great Dane, we see “beautiful.” Whatever her mix is, Cona will be a large dog when she’s done growing so a home with room to play and exercise would be best.

Trudie

Trudie

Breed: Mixed, possibly Catahoula Leopard Dog, Great Dane, and others!
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: March 24, 2019
Size: XL, best estimate 85+ lbs full grown
Good with kids: unknown but best with 5 and up due to size
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: with consistency yes
General information: Stunning good looks, brains, and sweet as can be…that’s Trudie. She came in with her lookalike sister, Cona, from a rural kill shelter in southern Ohio. We really aren’t sure of the breed mix…some think Irish Wolfhound mix, some think Great Dane, we think that whatever it is it’s pretty much perfect. These girls will be big by the time they are fully grown, so even though they love everyone they meet, kids older than 5 would most likely be best so that they don’t accidentally get knocked over! Trudie is outgoing and playful but not over-the-top. When she came in she had terrible flea dermatitis with a skin infection as well as being grossly underweight. We are treating her with antibiotics and feeding her quality food so that she can gain much needed weight. It is important to remember that even though she appears older due to size, she is a puppy and needs ongoing positive socialization and training. She will require space to play and exercise.

Chrissy

Chrissy

Breed: Beagle/Dachshund/Mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: 7/2018
Size: S/M 20 lbs
Good with cats: unknown
Good with kids: yes
Housebroken: yes (with consistency from the humans!)
General information: Chrissy is an affectionate, playful girl! She’s doing really well in her foster home with a canine companion and 2 human kids. She was reserved when she arrived and wasn’t sure about her surroundings but has opened up and become a happy girl. Chrissy has been successful with consistent house training and crate training. She loves to snuggle and loves to play as well. She’s a wonderful little girl who will thrive in a variety of settings.

Bella

Bella

Breed: German Shepherd mix
Sex: Female spayed
Estimated birthdate: January 2018
Size: Medium, 38 lbs
Good with kids: yes
Good with cats: unknown
Housebroken: yes
General information: Bella is a smart, affectionate Shepherd mix who was surrendered to us after the owner realized that they did not have adequate time to care for her. She lived with a young child and is good with kids and other dogs. She was a little too interested in the cats at the vet office so we would recommend a home without cats for Bella. She is part of our canine-inmate program where she is learning basic commands. Bella would do great in an active home where she has a fenced yard and/or is able to go for daily walks.
