Abby is a 4 yr old pure bred Jack Russell Terrier. She is everything a typical JR is; wicked smart, fast as lightning, and very energetic. I have never seen a more intense and fast dog as Abby. She is like a white streak running around in the yard. Zooooom! She can play ball, literally for hours, she absolutely loves every minute of it.
Abby has been shuffled around a bit from home to home over the past year. She needs a forever family who understands and appreciates her athleticism and intelligence and how her needs need to be met.
Truly she seems like the ideal candidate for fly ball or agility.
Abby is potty trained and crate trained, although she really doesn’t need a crate. She isn’t destructive and at night, well, laying in bed with her human(s) is her favorite spot.
Abby has some separation issues. When she knows her peeps are going to be leaving, she begins barking a lot and blocking their path.
Even though it feels intense while you are going to the door, she stops very shortly after you are out the door and she is Not destructive at all. In other words she doesn’t seek revenge : )
*According to Abby, cats are meant to be chased. And other dogs, well she could take them or leave them. She seems more tolerable of bigger dogs.
** I would not place Abby in a home w/ small children, she is too intense when she is playing ball and she doesn’t always see the human fingers embracing the ball
when she goes to get it from your hand. I feel we would potentially be setting her up for failure in a home where she might nip a child’s finger while reaching for her ball.
Abby really is a great little gal and we would Love to see her in a forever home where she is appreciated for the smart athletic gal that she is.
