Ruby is a stunning Collie/Shepherd mix who is approximately 9 months to a year old. She comes from a rural Ohio kill shelter where she was a staff favorite but frightened by all of the chaos in the kennel. Ruby is very bright, learns extremely fast, and is housebroken. Because of her tall build and the fact that she still has puppy behaviors (jumping up when excited) we feel that she is best suited for a home with children age 6 or older. Ruby is crated when her foster family is not home (because she’s young, she still needs to chew!) but goes willingly into her crate. She responds best to positive reinforcement due to her sensitive (Shepherd) nature. Ruby will notify you if someone comes to your door, loves to fetch and is friendly toward everyone. She is agile and has a lot of energy, so regular exercise is required. She is not comfortable getting into a car but is being taught that it is safe and not a bad thing! She has not been tested with cats but given the nature of her breed mixture it is not recommended.
