Rena
Rena is a Beagle mix that came to us from a kill shelter. We were contacted because the shelter was going to have to euthanize due to Rena’s broken leg and the facility did not have the resources to fix it. After hearing what an amazingly sweet disposition she had, we brought her into our rescue. Rena was evaluated by OSU Veterinary Hospital’s orthopedic team and had surgery on November 5. She had a specialty plate and screws placed in her radius bone and is expected to make a full recovery. Rena will be in a cast for 8-10 weeks but has been a complete trooper! She loves everyone that she meets: old, young, dogs, cats…you name it, she loves it! Her name is also special…she was named after Irena Sendler, a woman who saved thousands of children in WWII by hiding them from Nazi soldiers. She was tortured and had her legs broken but still did not talk in order to keep the children safe. Irena had a courageous heart and our little Rena does as well! Because of Rena’s continued care, she will need to be adopted in the Columbus area. Please fill out an online application to meet her. We have also included our GoFundMe link if you would like to contribute to her surgical fund! gofundme.com/jz6p7yhw
